Nothing Phone (4a) series reportedly gets third price hike in three months ahead of Phone (4b) launch
Nothing has reportedly increased the prices of its Nothing Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro once again, marking the third hike since the phones debuted earlier this year in March. According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, the latest revision raises prices by up to Rs 4,000 across the lineup. However, we cannot independently verify the revision as Flipkart, the official seller, is still showing the last hiked prices.

As we said, the new prices, if true, aren’t live yet. However, in case there’s a hike, the timing is noteworthy. The reported increase comes just days before the expected launch of the Nothing Phone (4b) on July 7th. While Nothing hasn’t officially commented on anything, the higher prices could help create a clearer gap between the upcoming Phone (4b) and the existing Phone (4a) series, especially if the 4b launches at a higher-than-expected price.

The increases look even steeper when compared to the launch prices announced in March. The Nothing Phone (4a) debuted at Rs 31,999 for the base variant but now costs Rs 39,999, an overall increase of Rs 8,000 or roughly 25 percent in just three months. The Phone (4a) Pro has seen an even bigger jump.
While Nothing hasn’t explained the repeated revisions, rising component costs and changing market conditions could be contributing factors. At the same time, increasing the prices ahead of the Phone (4b)’s debut could also help position the upcoming model more comfortably in the lineup without overlapping too closely with the Phone (4a) series.
Should you buy the Nothing Phone (4a) series?
If you were considering the Phone (4a) series primarily because of its original pricing, it may be worth waiting a few more days to see what the Phone (4b) brings, or check out competitors. Nothing has already confirmed a few details about the upcoming device, and it could offer newer (but lower-specced) hardware at a price that makes more sense relatively.
On the other hand, if you specifically want the Phone (4a) or Phone (4a) Pro and your budget can stretch to its current asking price, buying sooner rather than later may be the safer option. The latest hike and Carl Pei’s statements suggest Nothing isn’t afraid to revise prices upward, and another increase cannot be ruled out.
At launch, the Phone (4a) Pro went head-to-head with the OnePlus Nord 6, making it an attractive alternative for buyers who wanted Nothing’s unique software and design. Today, it sits nearly Rs 10,000 above the Nord 6, making that comparison far less compelling. There are stronger performance-focused options in this price range. However, if Nothing’s clean software, Glyph lighting and distinctive design are the reasons you’re considering the Phone (4a) series, buying now may be preferable to waiting for another possible price increase.
