Nothing Phone (4a) specifications tipped: Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and 5,400mAh battery expected

According to new specs shared by Android Headlines citing unnamed sources, the Nothing Phone (4a) is shaping up as a serious step up over previous A-series phones. It’s said to feature a 6.7-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, putting it in the same territory as many upper mid-range phones from brands like OnePlus, Samsung and Xiaomi. Power comes from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage, which should be enough for heavy app usage and gaming in the Rs 30,000 – Rs 40,000 bracket.

The Phone (4a) reportedly packs a 5,400mAh battery with support for 50W wired charging, along with IP65-rated protection against dust and water. The battery is definitely on the lower end of the spectrum as competitors have ventured into the 6,000mAh+ and even 7,000mAh categories with the advent of Silicon-Carbon tech.

The camera setup is where the 4a stands out more clearly. On the back, there could be a triple-camera system comprising a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. A 32MP selfie camera sits on the front. If this configuration holds at launch, Nothing will be one of the few brands offering a dedicated telephoto at this price, while many competitors lean on digital zoom from a single high-megapixel sensor.

Colour options include Black, Blue, Pink, and White, keeping the brand’s playful aesthetic intact. Both the Phone (4a) and 4a Pro are expected to share the same processor, battery, and telephoto camera, with differences mainly in Glyph implementation, colours, and pricing.

The Phone (4a) is expected to go up against devices like the OnePlus Nord 5 and Redmi Note 15 series phones. OnePlus and Xiaomi may undercut on raw pricing and charging speeds while Nothing brings clean software and distinctive design.

For buyers, the regular Phone (4a) already looks like the safer pick unless the Pro adds must-have extras beyond cosmetic changes. If you care about zoom photography, a big battery, and a fast, sharp display without paying flagship money, the 4a is worth shortlisting once pricing lands. If your priority is camera software, updates, or ultra-fast charging, it’s still sensible to compare it against Pixel and Chinese rivals before hitting pre-order. Sales for both models are expected to begin in mid-March, so there’s time to wait for first reviews before deciding.
