In classic Nothing fashion, the company has kicked off another round of its trademark teaser campaign, using Pokemons to hint at upcoming products. The company has shared images of Pokemons Blastoise and Jumpluff in its signature dot-matrix style, suggesting that at least two new devices are on the way. The company’s internal codenames for products are Pokemon characters, and every new launch is teased with that particular Pokemon.
While Nothing has not confirmed what the teasers refer to, a new smartphone and a pair of wireless earbuds could be on the way as per market speculation. Interestingly, Nothing India has also shared the Blastoise teaser, indicating that at least one of the upcoming products is expected to launch in the country.
Upcoming Nothing/CMF phone
The Blastoise teaser has sparked speculation that Nothing is preparing to launch a new smartphone. The Pokemon is known for its power and durability, so maybe nothing could be looking at launching a phone that is performance-focused. One possibility is a successor to the CMF Phone 2 Pro, which has been notably absent from Nothing’s launch calendar this year. There have been leaks associated with the CMF Phone 3 Pro too, suggesting it could feature upgraded materials, a metal frame, a redesigned camera module inspired by the Nothing Phone series, and a Qualcomm chipset. A larger 5,500mAh battery with 45W charging support has also been rumoured. However, a tipster earlier suggested it could launch around August.
There is another theory. Since the Blastoise teaser was posted by Nothing India rather than CMF by Nothing, some reports suggest it could represent an entirely different Nothing-branded smartphone instead of a CMF device. Either way, the teaser suggests that Nothing is continuing to expand its portfolio.
Nothing Ear (3a) also coming?
The Jumpluff teaser appears more likely to be linked to an audio product. Recent leaks have pointed to the launch of the Nothing Ear (3a), a successor to the Nothing Ear (a). The earbuds are tipped to offer features including 11 mm dynamic drivers, active noise cancellation, spatial audio, LDAC support and custom EQ controls. They are also expected to retain Nothing’s transparent design language that has helped its products stand out. The pricing of the device has been leaked to be EUR 99 (around Rs 10,700).
Nothing appears to be preparing launches across both smartphones and audio categories. The company has built a reputation for combining distinctive design with competitive pricing, so upcoming announcements will likely be worth watching if you’re considering a new phone or pair of earbuds in the coming months.
