OnePlus 16 full specifications leak with 9,000mAh battery, 200MP camera and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro
Right after the company teased the flagship, the OnePlus 16 has had its entire spec sheet outed. Tipster Digital Chat Station has shared what is claimed to be the phone’s full specifications on Weibo, revealing details about its display, cameras, battery, charging and chipset. The leak points to a 9,000mAh battery, 200MP main camera, BOE X4 display and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.
OnePlus has already teased the phone, confirming that the phone will support a 165Hz refresh rate system-wide and run Android 17-based ColorOS 17 in China. The company has not announced a launch date, although an earlier leak suggested an October debut.

OnePlus 16 specifications
DCS claims the OnePlus 16 will feature a 9,000mAh typical battery, with an 8,780mAh rated capacity and dual-cell architecture. It’s also tipped to support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. That would be a sizeable increase over the OnePlus 15‘s 7,300mAh battery, which uses a dual-cell design. The OnePlus 15 supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging in some markets, while its China model offers 120W wired charging.
The rumoured iQOO 16 is a closer comparison. It’s tipped to pack an 8,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging, although iQOO hasn’t confirmed those battery specifications. A 9,000mAh battery would therefore put the reported OnePlus 16 capacity above the iQOO 16 and mark a substantial increase over the previous OnePlus flagship. Even though we’re in that era when 10,000mAh batteries are more commonplace, putting them in a flagship would be compromising on weight and the design. Hence, it seems onePlus is capping it at 9,000mAh, much like they did with the OnePlus Nord 6.
The display is also getting broader 165Hz support. OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 16 will run at 165Hz system-wide, compared with the OnePlus 15’s 1Hz-120Hz adaptive range for general use and 165Hz support in compatible games. DCS additionally claims a 185Hz gaming refresh rate for the new model. The competition is also moving in the same direction. iQOO has officially confirmed a 2K 165Hz display for the iQOO 16, with the company claiming 31 percent lower panel power consumption than a similarly sized 1.5K display at 150 nits.
The leaked OnePlus 16 camera setup includes a 200MP 1/1.4-inch main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP 1/1.95-inch periscope telephoto. A 50MP autofocus selfie camera is also reported. This would be a significant change from the OnePlus 15’s triple-50MP setup, which includes a 50MP main camera and 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto. The larger main sensor and higher-resolution telephoto could give the OnePlus 16 a stronger hardware foundation for photography, an area where the OnePlus 15 faced criticism in comparisons with rival flagships.
DCS also claims the OnePlus 16 will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, reportedly built on TSMC’s 2nm process, with a 2+3+3 tri-cluster CPU and Adreno 850 GPU. These details remain unconfirmed by OnePlus. The company has confirmed gaming technologies including Wind Chaser Gaming Core, high-refresh-rate technology and an E-Sports Triple Chip system.
OnePlus 16 India availability
There is uncertainty around India availability after the company drastically scaled down its operations worldwide. Leaks claims the standard OnePlus 16 could skip India, with the OnePlus 16R potentially taking its place as the company’s flagship. OnePlus hasn’t confirmed anything.
For Indian buyers, the decision may ultimately come down to availability as much as hardware. The OnePlus 15 remains a capable option with a 7,300mAh battery, 165Hz gaming display and triple-50MP camera system, while the reported OnePlus 16 offers larger battery capacity and more ambitious camera hardware. Waiting for OnePlus to clarify the India lineup will make the comparison more straightforward.
