OnePlus 15 made its debut in China recently and is now scheduled to launch in India on November 13th. While we wait for the first Snapdragon 8 Elite phone in India, OnePlus seems to have another phone in the pipeline that’s quite interesting for a lot of reasons, starting with its name, which is rumoured to be OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max. This was based on an alleged image of the phone’s retail box spotted in the wild. Now, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has clarified, saying that the device will be called OnePlus Ace 6T, bringing back the brand’s erstwhile ‘T’ moniker.
In a Weibo post, DCS said that it’s not the OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max but Ace 6T. The tipster added that the T here doesn’t stand for Turbo, a new gaming-focused OnePlus smartphone series rumoured as well. OnePlus Ace 6T is also said to be inspired by the 2018-launched OnePlus 6T, which stood out for its “Snapdragon 8-series flagship chip + high refresh rate screen + ultra-smooth system + super-fast fingerprint unlock comes in an electric purple color, and has a very cool collaboration.” Similarly, the OnePlus Ace 6T is tipped to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, and touted to be the first one with this chipset too. This is an unannounced chipset but will reportedly use the same GPU architecture as the flagship 8 Elite Gen 5.
It’s also said to launch in Electric Purple, along with Flash Black and Shadow Green. A Genshin Impact collaboration might also be on the cards for the OnePlus Ace 6T, making it the second one after the OnePlus 12R.

The OnePlus Ace 6T would also somewhat bring back the ‘T’ branding, although the OnePlus 13T did launch as the brand’s compact phone in China, which is known as 13s in India. The last phone launched in this lineup was the OnePlus 8T in 2020. These are all leaks for now, but from reliable sources, so there would be some truth to them. It also makes things interesting for OnePlus, and their plans of bringing back the T branding, launching a gaming-focused series, and more.
In the OnePlus Ace lineup, the Pro or higher-end model typically remains exclusive to China, while the standard version launches globally under the ‘R’ branding. However, with the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6T powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, there’s a possibility that this model could launch outside China as well. If it does, then it would compete with other rumoured phones like the Vivo S50 Pro Mini or X300 FE, which is also expected to feature the same chipset.
While launch details are yet to be confirmed, the phone is expected to debut in China later this month. If it does reach global markets, it could be a strong contender in the performance-focused segment, offering flagship-grade hardware and a striking design, making it an ideal choice for power users.
OnePlus recently unveiled its new Gaming Technology, promising a console-like gaming experience on its smartphones. This move reinforces the brand’s focus on performance and gaming, something that’s likely to extend to the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6T as well. It also marks a return to OnePlus’s original philosophy of delivering performance-driven smartphones. It’s interesting to see how OnePlus plans to position its phones, especially for the global market. This makes the OnePlus Ace 6T a phone to look forward to, for old OnePlus fans, and anyone waiting for a performance-focused handset.
