OnePlus Ace 7 series has been rumoured for quite some time, and it’s expected to launch in China soon. Part of OnePlus’s gaming and performance-focused lineup, the Ace 7 series hardware will also focus on performance, endurance, and gaming. The lineup will most likely feature two phones: the OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro. In India, one of these phones is set to arrive as the OnePlus 16R.

According to the tipster Gadgetsdata, the OnePlus 16R will be priced in India between Rs 70,000 and Rs 75,000. If accurate, this would be much higher than the OnePlus 15R, which launched at a starting price of Rs 47,999. Following multiple price hikes, the 15R now sells at Rs 59,999 for the base variant. The current market scenario does make sense for newer models to launch at a much higher price due to rising component costs. That said, the sub-Rs 75,000 price segment still seems quite premium for the OnePlus 16R.
As far as its specifications are concerned, we can expect the same hardware as the Ace 7 series. This includes the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which would be an upgrade over the 8 Gen 5 powering the 15R, meaning improved performance. The OnePlus 16R could feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate. It could also get a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, a major upgrade over the 15R, which lacks this sensor. The smartphone is also tipped to feature a 200MP main camera.
Battery capacity would be a major upgrade for the 16R, as it could get a 9,000mAh unit. The 15R packs a 7,400mAh battery. More rumoured specs include a 16MP selfie camera and a built-in cooling fan.
If these rumoured specs hold, the OnePlus 16R would stand out as a top choice for performance and battery endurance. It could also offer a versatile camera setup, making its overall package more appealing. However, since all information is speculative for now, it’s best to wait for official details before making any buying decision.
