OnePlus is gearing up to refresh its popular Nord lineup, and the upcoming OnePlus Nord 6 is already starting to reveal what kind of upgrade users can expect. The phone has now surfaced on Geekbench, offering an early look at its performance hardware and hinting at a noticeable step forward compared to last year’s Nord 5. With the Nord lineup, OnePlus offers two models in the mid-range lineup with a premium design and performance-focused hardware.
The Geekbench listing shows a OnePlus device carrying the model number CPH2795, which aligns with earlier leaks and is believed to be the Nord 6. According to the benchmark data, the phone is powered by a chipset codenamed “sun,” widely associated with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. This is the same processor used in the China-only OnePlus Turbo 6, strengthening rumours that the Nord 6 could be a rebranded version of that device for global markets.
In terms of raw numbers, the listed unit scored just over 2,000 points in single-core tests and around 6,500 points in multi-core performance. While these figures may not fully reflect real-world speed, especially since benchmark units are often prototypes, they still suggest a clear leap over the Nord 5, which used the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. We expect a higher jump in performance, which will be clearer when the phone is official and we put it to the test.
The benchmark entry also reveals 10.93GB of usable memory, which typically translates to a 12GB RAM variant on paper, along with Android 16 out of the box. OnePlus is expected to continue with the 4+6 years software support, which was a big boost for the Nord 5’s long-term usage.
Industry-wide, this move reflects a growing trend where brands are narrowing the gap between mid-range and flagship phones. By using chips like the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, companies can deliver near-flagship performance without the higher costs associated with top-tier silicon. For buyers, this often means better gaming, smoother multitasking, and longer software relevance at a more accessible price point.
If the Nord 6 does end up being closely based on the OnePlus Turbo 6, users can expect a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, a 50MP+2MP dual-camera setup, and a massive 9,000mAh battery with fast charging support. That would mark a significant upgrade over the OnePlus Nord 5, particularly in battery life and sustained performance. But don’t be surprised if OnePlus reduces the battery capacity for the Nord 6.
The OnePlus Nord 6 is shaping up to be a strong option for users who want performance close to a flagship without paying a premium. Those currently considering the Nord 5 or similar mid-range phones may find it worth waiting, especially if gaming, longevity, and battery endurance are high on their priority list. With multiple certifications and benchmark sightings already in place, an official announcement from OnePlus now appears to be just around the corner.
