OnePlus Nord 6 launch reportedly delayed: here’s when it could arrive

Highlights
  • OnePlus Nord 6 is speculated to be a rebrand of the Turbo 6.
  • It could come with a refreshed design, a large battery, and a 165Hz display.
  • The handset was reportedly planned for an early March release.

OnePlus did not have a very good start to 2026 with rumours surrounding its possible shutdown. The brand did clarify, saying that its India operations will continue as normal. But there have been rumours about possible delays and even cancellations of OnePlus phones this year. Among these is the OnePlus Nord 6, whose launch has reportedly been delayed. Now, tipster Yogesh Brar has reiterated the same saying that the Nord 6’s launch has now been moved to April.

According to the tipster, the OnePlus Nord 6 was earlier planned to launch in March. But the launch has now been moved to April, with no reason provided. The tipster added that there’s no sign of the Nord CE6, which would be the affordable alternative in the new lineup. OnePlus usually launches two phones in its Nord lineup, which caters to the mid-range category. For context, last year, the OnePlus Nord 5 launched at Rs 31,999, and the OnePlus Nord CE5 at Rs 24,999. Both phones have performance at their core with large batteries, decent cameras, and long software support.

The OnePlus Nord 6 is anticipated to continue that legacy based on the speculation that it will launch as a rebrand of the OnePlus Turbo 6 in China. The Nord 6 could feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, which has been unofficially confirmed through a Geekbench listing. This would be an upgrade to the Nord 5’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, so a higher jump in performance is expected on the Nord 6.

The smartphone is also expected to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It’s slightly smaller than the Nord 5’s 6.8-inch screen, but with a higher refresh rate of 144Hz. Expect even smoother scrolling, especially in gaming. The highlight of the phone would be the massive 9,000mAh battery, if OnePlus continues with the same battery capacity. But don’t be surprised if OnePlus reduces the battery capacity for the Nord 6. Even so, it’s expected to be bigger than the 6,800mAh on the Nord 5.

More details include a 50MP+2MP dual-camera setup, a 16MP front camera, IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, and a refreshed design.

There’s still time for the OnePlus Nord 6’s rumoured launch, so we should get more clarity as it gets closer. But there’s quite a lot to look forward to with the Nord 6, especially in terms of performance upgrade, smoother display, bigger battery, and a more durable design. Those looking to upgrade from the Nord 5 or to a new mid-range phone may want to wait for the Nord 6.
