OPPO has launched a new A-series smartphone in India, the OPPO A6s 5G. It’s a mid-range smartphone with a starting price of Rs 18,999. The OPPO A6s 5G comes with a large 6,500mAh battery as its major highlight. You also get dual rear cameras with a 50MP main sensor, and an HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. OPPO’s A-series sits in the budget to mid-range category, ranging from Rs 10,000 to around Rs 25,000. With the A6s 5G, OPPO appears to be targeting users who want a battery-focused smartphone with a premium-looking design and a decent set of hardware.
The OPPO A6s 5G has been launched at a starting price of Rs 18,999 for the base model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. OPPO A6s with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is available at Rs 20,999. The smartphone is on sale starting today via Amazon, Flipkart, OPPO Store, and mainline retail outlets. It comes in two colour options — Aurora Gold and Plum Purple. OPPO is offering a flat discount of Rs 1,000 and 3 months of no-cost EMI on select credit cards.

Coming to its specifications, the OPPO A6s 5G features a 6.75-inch HD+ (1570 × 720 pixels) LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,125 nits peak brightness. Considering its price, the display specs seem disappointing as you’d get an FHD+ screen and an AMOLED panel in alternatives. Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, which is good enough for regular use but not for intensive tasks.
The highlight of the new OPPO smartphone is its 6,500mAh battery, which should easily run for an entire day on regular or moderate usage. The handset comes with 45W fast charging support. For optics, you get a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary sensor. There’s a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The setup is typical for this segment, but most phones offer a much better front camera up to 50MP. The smartphone also comes with AI features such as AI Portrait Retouching and AI Perfect Shot for further enhancing your photos.
The OPPO A6s 5G also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. On the software front, it runs ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, which is the older version, and most new phones ship with the latest Android 16. Shipping with an older Android version may push the phone behind rivals, especially with getting the latest features and updates.
Based on just the specifications alone, the OPPO A6s 5G seems like a good option for anyone who wants a daily driver with a reliable battery life. But for those who prioritise cameras, a better display, and a selfie camera may want to consider alternatives. Since the phone hasn’t been reviewed yet, it would be wise to wait before making a purchase decision.
