OPPO recently launched its flagship Find X9 series in India. The lineup includes two phones: the OPPO Find X9 Pro and Find X9. There’s one more phone in the pipeline to join OPPO’s flagship lineup, and it’s the upcoming Find X9s. According to fresh inputs from tipster Digital Chat Station, the phone will stick to the compact-flagship philosophy of its predecessor, the Find X8s, but the upgrades this time could be anything but subtle.
The OPPO Find X9s is tipped to feature a 6.3-inch flat AMOLED 1.5K display with LTPS technology. The handset is said to feature an ultrasonic fingerprint reader integrated under the display, indicating a more premium positioning. The compact footprint is expected to remain, continuing the brand’s push to deliver powerful hardware in a smaller, more pocketable body.
Cameras might see a major upgrade this time as OPPO is reportedly planning to use not one but two 200MP Samsung HP5 sensors, one for the main camera and another for the periscope telephoto lens. If this holds, it would mark a dramatic shift from the Find X8s, which used a Hasselblad-tuned triple 50MP setup with a 3x periscope zoom. A dual-200MP system would put the X9s in direct competition with the most camera-centric flagships from Samsung and Xiaomi.
Battery life is also expected to see a major leap. The Find X9s is rumoured to pack a 7,000mAh battery, up from the 5,700mAh unit inside the Find X8s. Wireless charging is said to be supported, and the device is expected to offer full water resistance, likely meaning IP68 or even IP69 certification. Powering the phone will be MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500+ chipset, a generational upgrade over the 3nm Dimensity 9400+ used in the Find X8s.
The Find X9s, on paper, looks set to move the needle significantly in photography and battery endurance while keeping the same compact-flagship identity intact.
As for India, OPPO has been selective about which Find X models make it to the local market, but the growing appetite for compact premium phones could work in the X9s’ favour. OPPO doesn’t have a true compact phone in India yet, like the OnePlus 13s and Vivo X300 FE. The Find X9 is also compact in a way, with a 6.59-inch display, but still bigger than the 6.32-inch display phones. If OPPO does bring it to India, it would likely sit in the upper-premium bracket and appeal to buyers who want top-tier cameras and long battery life in a smaller form factor.
The Find X9s is expected to debut in March, and until OPPO makes its plans official, buyers in India looking to upgrade to a compact flagship may want to wait. With its rumoured dual-200MP cameras and massive battery, the Find X9s could turn out to be one of 2026’s most interesting compact flagships, provided it lands here at the right price.
