POCO ranks high in smartphone buying preferences under Rs 30,000: 91mobiles survey

We recently conducted a survey on 91mobiles’ website and social media channels to determine the smartphone buying preferences of the people under Rs 30,000. The main objectives of the survey was to look for the aspects that matter the most when purchasing a smartphone, the preferred choice of chipsets, the people’s best smartphone pick, and the experience of after sales support offered by mobile phone brands like POCO, OnePlus, Realme, iQOO, and more. Here’s a quick round up of the insights we’ve gained after surveying over 3,000 participants. 

Performance is priority when buying a new smartphone

  • Per the survey conducted by 91mobiles, over 16 percent of the respondents specifically said performance is the most important attribute when buying a smartphone under Rs 30,000.
  • Around 13 percent and 8.8 percent of the survey takers chose battery / charging speeds and display, respectively, as the principal aspects on a smartphone. 
  • In order to get the best of everything, more than 50 percent of respondents look for all the important aspects on their next smartphone such as decent performance, battery life, charging speeds, and a reliable cooling system. 

Preference for Qualcomm chipsets is the highest for gaming

  • When it comes to gaming on smartphones, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is a popular choice among potential smartphone buyers under Rs 30,000 with over 49 percent of votes.
  • Phones like the POCO F5 and POCO X5 Pro are powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 and Snapdragon 778G, respectively, under Rs 30,000. 
  • On the other hand, MediaTek Dimensity 8000 series chipsets are favoured by 27.7 percent of the survey participants for mobile gaming. 

POCO F5 and POCO X5 Pro are preferred over the competition

  • People between the age group of 18 to 24 taking the survey prefer the POCO F5 the most when shopping for a smartphone under Rs 30,000.


  • Similarly, midranger POCO X5 Pro is the go-to choice of 23.5 percent of the respondents under Rs 25,000, outpacing the likes of realme 11 Pro, Samsung Galaxy F54 5G, and Moto Edge 40 Neo.

POCO ranks among the top 3 brands for best-in-class service quality and cooling technology 

  • When asked about the experience of after-sales services provided by popular smartphone brands, 53 percent of survey participants picked OnePlus, closely followed by POCO with 51.5 percent of votes.


  • According to the survey results, 28.7 percent of people seem to enjoy the cooling technology of iQOO the most. This is followed very closely by POCO at 28 percent. Realme, Motorola, and Infinix fill out the top 5 positions.
