Tecno’s POVA sub-brand has launched the POVA AI Buds Pro in India, bringing a set of AI-focused features to the company’s latest TWS earbuds. Alongside up to 48dB hybrid ANC, the earbuds can record conversations, transcribe them, generate summaries and offer real-time translation. The buds have launched in the sub-Rs 15,000 segment in the country.
Specifications and features
The POVA AI Buds Pro feature an eight-microphone array with a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) for calls, along with up to 48dB hybrid active noise cancellation. They also support dual-device connectivity, allowing users to pair the earbuds with two devices at once. The charging case has a dedicated red Quick Note button that can start an audio recording without requiring a connected phone. The earbuds have up to four hours of onboard recording storage. The AI Meeting Summary feature can then transcribe recorded conversations and turn them into summaries and action items.
Real-time translation is another key feature, with support for 78 languages. Tecno says the feature is designed to work through the earbuds, which could be useful for conversations with people speaking different languages. The POVA AI Buds Pro are rated for up to 40 hours of total playback with the charging case. The case supports both USB Type-C wired charging and Qi wireless charging, while the earbuds carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.
The hardware is not unusual for this price segment, where ANC, dual-device connectivity and long battery life are already common. Tecno is using AI tools as the main differentiator. That makes the earbuds more interesting for users who regularly attend meetings, record conversations or need translation than for buyers simply looking for noise cancellation.
Price and availability
The POVA AI Buds Pro are priced at Rs 14,999 in India, but will launch at an introductory price of Rs 12,499. Buyers can also get a Rs 1,000 bank discount and no-cost EMI options. The earbuds will go on sale from August 22nd at 12 noon through Amazon India and Flipkart.
At Rs 12,499, the POVA AI Buds Pro will sit above options such as the Nothing Ear, which launched at Rs 11,999. Buyers who mainly care about sound quality and ANC have plenty of alternatives, so Tecno’s AI features will need to work reliably to justify the higher price. Users who want recording, transcription and translation built into their earbuds should consider these earbuds.
