After officially confirming the  Realme 16 Pro specifications, the company has now revealed the key details of the Realme 16 Pro+. Both smartphones are scheduled to launch in India on January 6th, 2026, and will sit squarely in the mid-range segment, with a strong emphasis on design and camera performance. The two devices share a largely identical design, battery capacity, and primary camera setup. However, the Realme 16 Pro+ stands out with a more powerful chipset and the addition of a periscope-style telephoto camera, as revealed on its dedicated Flipkart microsite.

Return of the periscope camera

The Realme 16 Pro+ will bring back the periscope telephoto camera, which the brand decided to skip in the previous iteration after introducing it on the Realme 14 Pro+ earlier this year. Unfortunately, there won’t be any ultrawide lens this time around. The Realme 16 Pro+, instead, will sport a dual camera setup, comprising a LumaColor image-tuned 200MP primary sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. The telephoto lens resolution is identical to the Realme 14 Pro+, which provided a 3x optical zoom with its Sony IMX882 sensor and 6x lossless zoom.

It remains unclear whether the periscope telephoto lens on the Realme 16 Pro+ will be identical to those seen on competing devices. Be that as it may, there will definitely be a jump in performance from that phone. The Realme 16 Pro+ will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, which is the same chipset used in the Realme 15 Pro, Vivo V60, and several other mid-range smartphones. We have had no complaints about the chipset in regular day-to-day performance, and believe the Realme 16 Pro+ will be no different. The chipset will be paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM + 512GB of storage and is claimed to deliver an AnTuTu score of 1.44 million.

Moving on, the Realme 16 Pro+ is confirmed to feature a 4D curved display, expected to be 6.78 inches tall and of the AMOLED variety. The display will boast 6,500 nits of peak brightness, 1.48mm slim bezels, 2,500Hz touch sampling rate, and Netflix HDR content support. While it hasn’t been revealed yet, the display could offer 1.5k resolution, ensuring a crisp and vibrant viewing experience.

To light up the display, the Realme 16 Pro+ will draw juice from its mammoth 7,000mAh battery. The battery will be backed by 80W wired charging support, ensuring quick top-up times. This is the identical setup we saw on the Realme 15 Pro, which offered decent endurance in everyday usage. The company claims that the Realme 16 Pro+ can deliver up to 9.3 hours of gaming, around 20.8 hours of Instagram browsing, up to 21 hours of YouTube video playback, and as much as 125 hours of music streaming on Spotify.

Most durable number-series Realme smartphone

However, the Realme 16 Pro+ will be much more durable than its predecessors. The handset is rated to be IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K certified, which not only protects the device from water and dust but also from high temperature and pressure jets.

Previously, it was confirmed that the upcoming Realme smartphone will feature an ‘Urban Wild’ design and be offered in two India-exclusive colours: Master Gold and Master Grey. The handset, along with the regular Realme 16 Pro, will be available for sale exclusively via Flipkart. While Realme has yet to officially reveal the India pricing of the Realme 16 Pro+, a leaked retail box suggests a price tag below Rs 43,999. If accurate, this would make it the most expensive model in the brand’s number-series lineup to date.

That said, such pricing seems unlikely, even in light of rising component costs. A price increase is expected, but Realme is typically aggressive with its pricing strategy. If the company manages to strike the right balance, the Realme 16 Pro+ could emerge as one of the most compelling mid-range smartphones for camera-focused buyers.
