The launch of Realme’s next number series phone looks close. The Realme 16T 5G has started showing up in leaks, with a marketing image doing the rounds, soon after the phone was earlier spotted on Geekbench. There’s no official word from Realme yet, but the sightings are enough to point that the the launch isn’t far off.
Realme 16T leaked design and specifications
The leaked marketing image, shared by tipster Paras Guglani, shows a familiar Realme look. There’s a flat back, a square camera module with rounded corners, and colour options that include blue and red, with reports pointing to additional options in the form of Aurora Green and Starlight Black. The phone isn’t trying to stand out, but it does keep things clean and consistent with the rest of the Realme 16 lineup.
The camera setup appears to be a dual-sensor system with an LED flash, and the tagline on the poster, “All-Star Battery. Superstar Portraits”, gives an idea that Realme wants to highlight long battery life and decent portrait shots.
On performance, the only concrete signal so far comes from an older Geekbench listing. It showed the phone running on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 with 8GB RAM and Android 16, scoring 784 in single-core and 2007 in multi-core tests. That places it in entry-to-mid-range territory. Notably, the Realme 15T used a Dimensity 6400 Max, while the regular Realme 16 5G uses a Dimensity 6400 Turbo. The 16T, on paper, takes a step down with the Dimensity 6300.
That might sound like a downgrade, but it doesn’t automatically translate to a worse experience. For most people, this level of performance is more than enough for everyday use. The trade-off could be better efficiency, or simply a way for Realme to hit a more aggressive price.
There’s no launch date yet, but once marketing material starts leaking, it’s usually a matter of weeks. The Realme 15T launched at Rs 20,999. With a slightly lower-tier chip this time, Realme either needs to compensate with better battery, display, or camera hardware, or come in at a sharper price. The mid-range 5G segment in India has become crowded with brands focusing on areas like camera-led AI features, fast charging, and larger batteries while keeping prices competitive. Companies like Xiaomi, Samsung, and Nothing are positioning their devices with distinct strengths making differentiation harder for newer launches.
If it lands around the expected sub-Rs 20,000 mark, it could make sense for everyday users. The Dimensity 6300 chip is not built for heavy gaming, but it should handle routine tasks like social media, streaming, and light multitasking without much trouble. Wait for official pricing and full specifications before making a decision.
