A reliable industry tipster, Abhishek Yadav, has shared a retail box image of the upcoming Realme 16T, revealing an MRP of Rs 55,999 alongside the phone’s About Device screen. The leak comes just days ahead of the phone’s confirmed India launch on May 22, 2026, and the price tag, while high on paper, fits into a broader trend of rising MRPs across the mid-range segment in India this year.
According to the leaked images, the Realme 16T runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, packs an 8,000mAh battery, 8GB physical RAM with up to 10GB RAM Boost, and a 50MP plus 2MP dual rear camera setup with a 16MP front camera. The processor should manage daily tasks, social media, streaming and casual gaming without too much trouble. Ahead of the launch, Realme has officially shared details about the 16T’s camera and battery capabilities. The 50MP main camera uses a Sony IMX852 sensor with an F1.8 aperture and autofocus, paired with Realme’s LumaColor IMAGE Engine, which applies AI processing for skin texture, skin tones and edge sharpness to produce cleaner portrait shots, especially in tricky lighting conditions.
The phone also comes with AI Portrait Glow, which works by analysing facial lighting in low light and applying brightness compensation while keeping skin texture looking natural. It supports multiple lighting styles, including flash, rim light, natural light and studio light.
On the creative side, Realme is adding a rear Selfie Mirror that lets users preview framing in real time while shooting with the rear camera, similar to what the recently launched Realme 16 (review) offered. Other key features include AI Popout Collage, AI StyleMe and AI Instant Clip.
