Ahead of its upcoming number-series launch, Realme has officially rolled out the Narzo 90 series in India. The lineup includes the Realme Narzo 90 and Narzo 90x, both positioned in the affordable mid-range segment. With these devices, Realme is targeting heavy users and those constantly on the move, promising long-lasting battery life backed by a massive 7,000mAh Titan battery, along with fast 60W charging support to minimise downtime. The Realme Narzo 90 series also comes with enhanced display quality and cameras over its predecessor Narzo 80 series, which was introduced earlier this year.

The Realme Narzo 90 features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display that bears a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, 2160 PWM dimming, and the segment’s first 4,000 nits peak brightness. The brightness should ensure an easy viewing experience even outdoors under direct sunlight. At its core lies a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Max SoC paired with 8GB/ 12GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB storage. The chipset is slightly downgraded from the Realme Narzo 80 Pro, which featured a 4nm Dimensity 7400 SoC. Be that as it may, the brand is not calling the Narzo 90 a direct successor to the Narzo 80 Pro, so there could be chances that a ‘Pro’ model with an upgraded chipset is in the pipeline.

As for the Dimensity 6400 Max, it is the same chipset that first appeared on the Realme 15T and proved capable for everyday tasks, though it falls short for more demanding workloads such as intensive gaming. In fact, the Narzo 90 appears to be a rebranded version of the number-series handset. The handset carries over an identical design, featuring a squircle-shaped camera module that houses triple lenses alongside an LED flash, as well as triple IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.

The phone also adopts flat edges and a familiar rear panel similar to the Realme 15T. However, Realme has added a new ‘Victory Power’ design accent, marked by a bold orange-and-black stripe running vertically from top to bottom next to the camera module, giving it a more distinctive look. The similarities don’t end there.

In optics, the Realme Narzo 90 features a 50MP primary camera, accompanied by a 2MP B&W lens. For selfies and video calling, the handset features a 50MP snapper in the punch-hole setup. They are touted as the AI camera, and the company has also introduced several AI-backed photo editing tools to further enhance images. These include AI Edit Genie, AI Editor, AI Eraser, and AI Ultra Clarity.

Despite introducing the latest Realme UI 7, the Realme Narzo 90 and Narzo 90x come pre-loaded with Android 15-based Realme UI 6. This means their software experience remains identical to other Realme smartphones introduced earlier this year. Realme has promised software updates for the Narzo 90 series, which means it will get the Realme UI 7 via OTA update.

Coming to the Realme Narzo 90x specifications, the smartphone also boasts a 7,000mAh battery with 60W fast charging, like the regular variant. It also features a 50MP AI rear-facing camera; however, its design has been altered with a rectangular camera module and a ring LED light – similar to its predecessor Narzo 80x. The handset sports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.

The rest of the specifications have been slightly watered down compared to the Narzo 90. The Realme Narzo 90x is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC and sports a 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel with 144Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution, and 1,200 nits brightness. The front camera is an 8MP sensor in the punch-hole setup.

This naturally makes the Realme Narzo 90x more affordable in the lineup. The handset is priced at Rs 13,999 for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option, while its top-end 8GB RAM + 128GB variant retails at Rs 15,499. The Realme Narzo 90, on the other hand, will cost Rs 15,999 and Rs 17,499 for the identical RAM and storage configurations as the Narzo 90x. These are very competitive prices for the phones. Although the on-paper performance may not turn heads, the Realme Narzo 90 series looks well-suited for users who prioritise strong battery life and a satisfying multimedia experience over outright processing power.

Both smartphones will be available for sale in India from December 24th, 12PM, onwards exclusively via Amazon.in. The Narzo 90 comes in Victory Gold and Carbon Black colour variants, while the Narzo 90x will be available in Flash Blue and Nitro Blue colours.
