What the Redmi A7 Pro 5G offers
Starting with the display, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G packs a large 6.9-inch HD+ LCD panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate. With the display being even larger than the one found on top-end flagships, it should offer an expansive video-watching experience, even though the resolution is limited to 720p.
Powering up the device is the Unisoc T8300 processor. At its launch price, the phone goes head-to-head against the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 found on the Realme C83 and OPPO K14x. This Unisoc T8300 is a 6nm-based processor with up to 2.2GHz clock speeds, which is paired with UFS 2.2 and LPDDR4X RAM.

For charging, the phone includes a 15W charger, while 7W reverse wired charging support is also in tow to juice up other devices, such as TWS earphones. On the software front, the phone runs on Android 16-based HyperOS 3, which offers niceties like HyperIsland to view information in real time from apps like timer and music through a pill in the status bar, Google Gemini, and Circle to Search.
The standout aspect of the software is that it’s set to gain four OS upgrades and six years of security patch updates, giving it a major edge over the recently released OPPO K14x and Realme C83, which are set to gain only one Android upgrade after Android 16.
As for the design and build, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G’s IP52-certified body weighs 210g and measures 8.15mm in thickness. It also sports a 3.5mm headphone jack for enjoying music through wired audio.
Will it be worth waiting for Redmi A7 Pro 5G’s sale?
Considering we have yet to test the capabilities of the Unisoc T8300 found in the Redmi A7 Pro, it’s advisable to wait for real-world tests and hands-on reviews of the smartphone. Looking beyond the chipset, at Rs 11,499, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G appears to be a strong budget-oriented handset that offers a similar set of specifications at a lower price than the Realme C83 and OPPO K14x.
Apart from the large 6,300mAh battery, four years of OS upgrade support remains a major highlight of the smartphone, making it beneficial for those seeking a smartphone for the long run. It’s worth noting that both storage variants of the handset feature just 4GB RAM, which could act as a bottleneck when users load the phone with multiple apps in the background.
