On the face of it, the IP68 rating certifies the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ to be water resistant up to a maximum depth of 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes. The device will be resistant to dust particles too.
Based on its predecessor's pricing, we think the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ could launch for around Rs 30,000 price or lower. Not many phones in this price range offer IP68 certification. So, Redmi offering this can encourage the broader market to also release IP68 midrange phones.
That said, you should note that even with this rating, water damage may not be covered in the warranty. The phone's Chinese edition didn't.

The company has so far confirmed details like a vegan leather finish, a 1.5K curved AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset, and its 3 colours namely Fusion Purple, Fusion Black, and Fusion White. We also know it will be available on Amazon and Flipkart among other outlets.
