The Redmi Note 17 Pro series launch event in India is scheduled to take place at 12 noon today. Redmi is hosting a livestream for the launch event. We’ve linked the YouTube page below where you can watch the event and catch up on the latest updates.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro series is confirmed to go on sale via Amazon. It’s expected to be available through other platforms like Xiaomi India’s online store and retail outlets.
Redmi Note 17 Pro series: what to expect
The Redmi Note 17 Pro series is confirmed to pack a massive 10,000mAh battery, claimed to last for over four days of usage. This would make the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max one of the best phones for battery life if it lives up to its claim. The Redmi Note 17 Pro series is also expected to compete with rivals from brands like Realme and OnePlus, which are known to offer massive batteries ranging from 9,000mAh to 10,000mAh. For durability, the Redmi Note 17 Pro series is expected to come with IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings. The handsets will also come with TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan quality certification, which is said to be the first in the industry.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro is confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, while the Note 17 Pro Max will get the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. Although not tested, these chipsets are expected to deliver reliable everyday performance.
Both the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max and Redmi Note 17 Pro feature a similar design. The Note 17 Pro Max in particular comes in a ‘Secret Sunrise’ colour, which has a photochromic, colour-changing material on the rear design featuring clouds and portraying a sunrise.
The launch is only a few hours away, so we should know more about the devices very soon. The Redmi Note 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max seem aimed at buyers who prioritise battery endurance over everything else. If you’re on a Note 15 Pro, this might be a significant upgrade, especially for the battery life.
