Redmi could soon add a new member to its performance-oriented Turbo lineup with the release of the Redmi Turbo 6 Max next year in China. What appears to be a render of the Turbo 6 Max has been surfacing online recently, showcasing the phone’s rear design, featuring a horizontal camera layout and slim bezels. The smartphone’s key specifications have also been seemingly revealed, courtesy of Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo.

Redmi Turbo 6 Max’s design surfaces online
The leaked Redmi Turbo 6 Max image showcases a flat front glass panel with relatively slim, symmetrical bezels framing all four sides. Up front, there’s a centred hole-punch cutout located at the top edge for the selfie camera. At the rear, the most striking element is a wide, pill-shaped horizontal camera island running across the top portion of the device, similar to Google Pixel’s camera bar.
Since we were unable to verify the source of the image, the design details should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Redmi Turbo 6 Max’s leaked specifications
Per the details revealed by DCS on Weibo, the Redmi Turbo 6 Max appears to be engineered as a media-consumption and power-user powerhouse. The phone could carry a massive 7-inch display with 2K resolution, something that has generally been reserved for premium flagships.
With the display crossing the usual 6.8-inch size, it could be ideal for high-frame-rate gaming, multitasking, and streaming. Notably, despite its tablet-like screen size, the phone maintains an ergonomic aesthetic thanks to large R-angle (softly rounded) corners that prevent the sharp, boxy feel typically associated with large flat displays. It could sport a flat metal frame, giving the device better heat dissipation capabilities and a premium in-hand feel.
Under the hood, a monumental 10,000mAh battery could be present. Given the known details, Redmi seems to be balancing ultra-long battery life with a modern design. However, it remains to be seen how well Redmi has maintained the phone’s weight considering the battery capacity.
Will the Redmi Turbo 6 Max launch in India?
The Redmi Turbo 6 Max was essentially launched in India as the POCO X8 Pro Max, making the Redmi Turbo series exclusive to China. Therefore, there is a high chance that the Redmi Turbo 6 Max could land in India as a POCO-branded smartphone.
While we’re yet to know the performance and processor details (the POCO X8 Pro Max was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s), the 7-inch 2K display and the 10,000mAh battery indicate that the phone is going all out on gaming, endurance, and entertainment experiences. Since the POCO smartphone was launched at Rs 42,999 (currently selling at Rs 46,999 due to price hikes), the Redmi Turbo 6 Max’s Indian variant could certainly cross the Rs 50,000 or even the Rs 55,000 mark for its superior and advanced hardware.
If the rumoured specifications align with your needs for a gaming/media powerhouse, it might be worth waiting for the device if it happens to launch here next year.
