Samsung is preparing to add another model to its Galaxy S26 lineup. The company has announced a Galaxy Event for August 27th, where it says it will introduce “its newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family”. While the company has not named the device, the announcement is widely expected to be for the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE.
The event will be livestreamed on Samsung.com and YouTube from 9 pm KST, (5.30 pm IST). Samsung hasn’t shared any specifications for the upcoming phone yet.
The Galaxy S26 FE has already appeared in several leaks and certification databases, giving us an idea of what Samsung’s next Fan Edition phone could offer. A Google Play Console listing for model number SM-S741U points to Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset, an Xclipse 950 GPU and around 8GB of RAM. The listing also shows a 1,080 x 2,340-pixel display and a recent Android version.
More recent leaked marketing material suggests the phone will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Full-HD+ resolution. It’s tipped to feature a 4,900mAh battery with 45W wired charging, along with IP68 dust and water resistance. The leaked design shows a flat display, Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection and an aluminium frame. The reported camera setup includes a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide and 8MP 3x telephoto camera, with a 12MP sensor on the front. The phone is expected to be available in Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio finishes. It could also support features such as Horizontal Lock and My FanCam. Samsung is also expected to retain its seven-year software support commitment.
The Galaxy S26 FE appears to retain several key specifications from its predecessor. The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, which launched in India at Rs 59,999, also has a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, 4,900mAh battery, 45W charging, IP68 protection and a 50MP triple-camera setup. The biggest expected change is the move to the Exynos 2500, replacing the Exynos 2400 used in the S25 FE.
Pricing will be important as higher memory costs are adding pressure across the smartphone industry. In India, the Galaxy S26 currently starts at Rs 87,999, so the S26 FE is likely to remain positioned just below it. For Samsung users looking for a more affordable entry into the S26 family, the FE model should offer a familiar balance of display, cameras, performance and long-term software support. The Galaxy S25 FE remains a relevant alternative while stocks last, particularly if its price falls further ahead of the new model’s arrival.
