Smartphones launching in India next week: Redmi Note 15, Realme 16 Pro series, and more
With the holiday season behind us, it’s back to business. As far as tech is concerned, globally, attention will be firmly fixed on the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026, which kicks off on January 6th (stay tuned to 91mobiles for all the coverage). As for India, it is set to witness a wave of mid-range smartphone launches next week. Established brands such as OPPO, Realme, POCO, and Redmi are all set to unveil the next generation of their popular line-ups. In total, seven smartphones are expected to debut, including the first-ever mini smartphone in the OPPO Reno series.
Here’s every smartphone that has been confirmed to launch in India between January 5th and January 9th:

Redmi Note 15
The Redmi Note 15 is all set to break covers in India on January 6th. This time it will only be the regular variant – the Pro models are expected to break covers in the country later. Nevertheless, the Redmi Note 15 will appeal to the masses with its relatively affordable price tag. The smartphone is confirmed to feature a curved edge design, with a square-shaped camera deco in the middle and just 7.35mm thick. This deco will come with dual sensors, including a 108MP OIS primary unit. The sensor is said to deliver multifocal point portraits, dynamic shots, and support for 4K video recording.
As for the battery, the smartphone will house a 5,520mAh one with support for 45W fast charging. The company claims that the battery can provide up to 1.6 days of usage between charges. The Redmi Note 15 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC, which promises up to 48 months lag free performance. The phone will be IP66 water and dust-resistant certified and sport a 6.77-inch Curved AMOLED display that bears 3,200 nits peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, TUV triple eye care certificate, and Hydro Touch 2.0.

The smartphone has also been launched globally, where it is priced at roughly Rs 25,000. However, the Redmi Note 15 sports a triple camera setup, with a dedicated 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP unit. The OEM hasn’t confirmed the secondary sensor of the smartphone’s Indian unit yet, and looking at the official renders, there will be no third sensor. The front camera on the smartphone could be a 20MP shooter for selfies and video calling.
The Redmi Note 15 is expected to come in two colour options: black and blue. Given the history of the Note series, the handset could be priced competitively in India. The previous iteration was priced starting at Rs 18,999. If the new Redmi Note 15 could be priced around the same, it’ll be a good catch considering its upgrades in battery, performance, and more.
Realme 16 Pro series
The Realme 16 Pro series is another smartphone launching in India on January 6th. Unlike the previous iteration, the series will comprise two models: Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+. The OEM has already confirmed key specs of both smartphones, which will offer near-identical specifications, with the Realme 16 Pro+ being the more spec-heavy.
Realme 16 Pro+
The Realme 16 Pro+ is an iterative upgrade to the Realme 15 Pro, with an identical Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, 7,000mAh battery, and 80W fast charging. However, the cameras will see an upgrade with a 200MP primary camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. Moreover, the new number series smartphones will debut with an Urban Wild design, with a square-shaped camera deco in the top left corner.
The handset will be IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K certified, which not only protects the device from water and dust but also from high temperature and pressure jets. The phone will sport a 4D curved AMOLED display with 6,500 nits of peak brightness, 1.48mm slim bezels, 2,500Hz touch sampling rate, and Netflix HDR content support. The handset is confirmed to be available in 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration, but there could be more variants as well.
Apart from this, the Realme 16 Pro+ comes in Master Gold and Master Grey colour options. There are reports that the phone could be priced at Rs 43,999, making it the most expensive number-series smartphone. That said, Realme is yet to confirm the 16 Pro+ pricing in India, so take the news with a grain of salt.
Realme 16 Pro
The Realme 16 Pro is expected to be slightly more affordable, powered by the less powerful MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max chipset. That said, it will still retain several headline features from the 16 Pro+, including the 200MP LumaColour primary camera, a large 7,000mAh battery, and a 1.5K AMOLED display capable of reaching up to 6,500 nits of peak brightness.
The Realme 16 Pro price in India has not been revealed yet. Considering its predecessor, the handset could be a sub-Rs 30,000 offering.
The Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+ may not feel like compelling upgrades over their immediate predecessors. However, for users coming from a smartphone that’s a generation or two older, the new models could still be well worth considering.
OPPO Reno 15 series
OPPO has also scheduled the launch of its mid-range Reno15 series on January 8th. The OEM is making a major change to the lineup this time to appeal to a wider group of buyers. For the first time, the series will include three models: the Reno15, Reno15 Pro, and Reno15 Pro Mini. As the name suggests, the Pro Mini will be a compact smartphone.
OPPO has confirmed that all three smartphones will feature an aerospace-grade aluminium frame, known for its lightweight build and durability, and a refined square-ring camera module that blends more seamlessly into the rear panel. Moreover, the Reno15 series is set to debut with India’s first HoloFusion technology, which creates a three-dimensional visual effect of the pattern on the phone’s back panel.
That said, there are only limited OPPO Reno15 series specifications which have been confirmed yet.
OPPO Reno15 Pro Mini
The OPPO Reno15 Pro Mini is confirmed to feature a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, packed into a compact and easy-to-handle form factor. Weighing around 187g, the phone will prioritise comfort without compromising on a premium feel, thanks to its slim bezels and refined finish.
The OPPO Reno15 Pro Mini will be available in Cocoa Brown and Glacier White colour options, along with triple IP ratings (IP66, IP68, and IP69) for improved durability. Overall, the Reno15 Pro Mini positions itself as one of the most pocket-friendly premium smartphones in its segment.
OPPO Reno15 Pro
The OPPO Reno15 Pro will sit at the top of the lineup with a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display featuring an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, paired with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The handset will be available in Sunset Gold and Cocoa Brown colour options, and much like the Pro min, it will be IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, underscoring OPPO’s focus on both premium design and durability.
OPPO Reno15
The base Reno15 smartphone will also get the same level of durability as its elder siblings. The handset will come in three colour options: Glacier White, Twilight Blue, and Aurora Blue. While its display size remains under wraps at the moment, it is confirmed to be an AMOLED type with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
The rest of the details of the Reno15 series have not been confirmed yet. A leak reveals the Reno15 Pro Mini could be priced at Rs 59,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, despite its retail box MRP of Rs 64,999. This will put it in the same league as the other compact smartphones, Vivo X200 FE and OnePlus 13s.
Both rivals bring flagship-grade chipsets, surprisingly large batteries for their compact footprints, and relatively good camera systems. While the OPPO Reno15 Pro Mini offers a distinctive design, it has to stand out in the aforementioned departments to make it a convincing buy.
POCO M8
POCO will also be in action next week, with its next-gen M-series smartphone. In a Flipkart teaser, the OEM confirmed the POCO M8 India launch on January 8th. It’s touted as the slimmest smartphone in its segment. The handset will measure 7.35mm in thickness and weigh around 178 grams, making it comfortable to wield and carry around.
While the official specifications are yet to be confirmed, the teaser offers a subtle glimpse of the design, which appears similar to the Redmi Note 15. The POCO M8 is expected to feature a squircle-shaped camera module that looks nearly identical to the Redmi smartphone. That said, the device seems set to stand out with a dual-tone finish, with teasers hinting at a combination of matte surfaces and vegan leather.
