“The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus comes with 23MP camera and impressive multimedia prowess”

At the recently-concluded IFA 2017 held in Berlin, Sony took the wraps off its flagship phones Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact (first impressions). While these two were the stars of the show, the brand also launched another handset called the Xperia XA1 Plus, which is a mid-range offering. To recall, the brand had launched Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra (first impressions) at the MWC, earlier this year. The all new XA1 Plus is the continuation of the line and is a notch above the XA1. We got to play with the device at IFA and here are our first impressions of the device.

On the design front, the Xperia XA1 Plus comes with the familiar Sony OmniBalance design that we have seen in the previous launches in this series, featuring thick bezels above and below. Below is the handset in all its glory for your viewing pleasure

In a nutshell, the handset comes with a smaller 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with full HD resolution. It retains the Mediatek Helio P20 processor from its siblings and is equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. The optics also remain the same with a 23MP f/2.0 rear shooter and an 8MP shooter. All in all, the device sits snuggly between the 5-inch XA1 and 6-inch XA1 Ultra, and could be a good choice for those who find the XA1 too small and the XA1 Ultra too big.
