Vivo is set to launch the Vivo V70 FE in India on April 2nd, according to exclusive information received by 91mobiles from industry sources. The company has also started teasing the device, with a microsite confirming a 200MP main camera. Alongside the launch date, we also know the colours the device would bring to India and one of them is a new Monsoon Blue variant that features a glow-in-the-dark finish.
Exclusive images we accessed show that this Northern Light Purple version behaves differently under different lighting conditions. In regular light, it looks like a muted blue with a clean matte finish. In the dark, however, it reveals streak-like glowing patterns across the back panel after exposure to light. Vivo is expected to market this as part of its ‘Darkness Glow’ material, which is a luminous rear panel that emits a subtle glow in low-light conditions after light exposure. A second colour option, Monsoon Blue, is also expected, with a softer gradient finish. The emphasis on design is notable as Vivo is trying to stand out visually, especially with the glow effect on the Monsoon Blue variant.
The design in the teaser image shows a flat-edged frame with a vertically aligned dual-camera setup. Below the cameras sits Vivo’s Aura Light ring flash, which has been a consistent feature in its V-series phones aimed at improving portrait shots. The camera module itself carries “200MP OIS CAM” branding, aligning with what Vivo has already confirmed through its teaser.
The V70 FE sits below the standard V70 lineup and marks the first ‘Fan Edition’ in the famed V series. The phone has already launched in Indonesia, which gives a clear picture of what to expect in India. It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset, placing it in the upper mid-range category. The focus is on stable day-to-day performance rather than peak gaming output.
Other expected specifications include a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 7,000mAh battery with 90W charging, and a camera setup led by a 200MP sensor, alongside an 8MP ultrawide and a 32MP front camera. It also includes IP68 and IP69 ratings, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and configurations of up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The battery is one of the more notable aspects as 7,000mAh capacities are starting to become more common in all price segments.
In India, the V70 FE is expected to be priced between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000, based on earlier leaks. This puts it in direct competition with devices like the Nothing Phone (4a) series, Redmi Note 15 Pro lineup, and Realme 16 Pro models. These phones typically focus on balanced performance and software experience, but the competition with the Nothing Phone (4a) series is going to be interesting as both are using design as their USPs. The Aura Light feature will also continue to target users who care about portrait photography.
The V70 FE, on paper, looks suited for users who prioritise battery life, camera resolution, and a distinct design. The V70 FE looks like a good fit for users who prioritise battery life, camera resolution, and standout design in the mid-range segment. If performance or gaming is a priority, it’s worth comparing other alternatives in the same price range. The V70 FE’s final value will depend on pricing and real-world camera and battery performance after launch.
