Vivo X200 Pro battery review: bigger battery, reliable backup

The Vivo X200 Pro is Vivo’s latest and most advanced flagship in India. It is a camera powerhouse, which we will explore in another article. We have already discussed its impressive hardware in our performance review. When it comes to battery performance, the X200 Pro doesn’t disappoint, boasting a larger 6,000mAh battery compared to its predecessor’s 5,400mAh, along with support for 90W fast charging. Here’s how the X200 Pro stacks up against competitors like the iQOO 13 (review), OPPO Find X8 Pro (review), and iPhone 16 Pro.

Verdict:

The Vivo X200 Pro is a clear upgrade over its predecessor in the battery department, delivering excellent battery life during regular usage, intensive gaming, and standby time. You can easily achieve around 6 hours of screen-on time, or even more, depending on your usage. While its charging speeds aren’t as fast as those of the iQOO 13, they are sufficient for a quick top-up when you’re in a hurry.

    Pros:

    • Scores well compared to rivals in PCMark battery test
    • Solid battery life in real-world, day-to-day usage
    • Power efficient during gaming and video streaming

    Cons:

    • Slow wired and wireless charging speeds

We conducted a range of tests, including the PC Mark battery benchmark and real-world drain and charge assessments, to evaluate the battery and charging performance of each phone. Keep reading to see how the Vivo X200 Pro compares to its competitors.

    PCMark battery test

    (higher is better)

PCMark test assesses a phone’s possible screen on time on a single charge after simulating real-world usage.

    Winner: Vivo X200 Pro

The Vivo X200 Pro benefits from a large 6,000mAh battery, delivering around 13 hours and 43 minutes on the PCMark battery test. It outperforms the iQOO 13 and the OPPO Find X8 Pro, likely due to the power-efficient 3nm Dimensity 9400, which is well-optimised in the Vivo X200 Pro. Despite the iQOO 13 also featuring a 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it appears to be more power-hungry compared to the Vivo flagship.

Real-world context: What this means in real-world usage is that the Vivo X200 Pro offers impressive screen on time. In my testing, I got a screen on time of around six hours most days.

    YouTube video streaming test

30-minute YouTube streaming test to check battery drain (lower is better)

PhonesBattery drop % and absolute mAh
    iPhone 16 Pro2 percent (71.6mAh)
    Vivo X200 Pro3 percent (180mAh)
    iQOO 133 percent (180mAh)
    OPPO Find X8 Pro3 percent (177.3mAh)

    Winner:
    iPhone 16 Pro

Apple’s A18 Pro isn’t just a terrific performer but also extremely power efficient, ensuring the iPhone 16 Pro barely drops battery while consuming media for about 30 minutes. The Vivo X200 Pro, iQOO 13, and OPPO Find X8 Pro all hold up well, consuming just 3 percent battery after the same amount of time.

Real-world context: All four flagships are quite efficient when streaming content, so you won’t be disappointed in that area. In addition to a large battery, the Vivo X200 Pro offers a stunning display that makes it a great device to stream on.

    Gaming test

90-minute gaming test to check for battery drain (lower is better)

PhonesTotal battery drop % (in mAh)
    Vivo X200 Pro17 percent (1020mAh)
    iQOO 1317 percent (1020mAh)
    OPPO Find X8 Pro20 percent (1180mAh)
    iPhone 16 Pro22 percent (788mAh)

Winner: Vivo X200 Pro and iQOO 13

Both Vivo X200 Pro and iQOO 13 drained the least amount of battery after playing three games – BGMI, Call of Duty, and Real Racing 3 – for a total of 90 minutes. This indicates that the Vivo and iQOO flagships are likely to last longer than their rivals when gaming, making them ideal choices for heavy mobile gamers seeking flagship devices with excellent battery efficiency.

Real-world context: We found that the Vivo X200 Pro not only loses battery more slowly than the rest during gaming but also generates less heat, which contributes to the overall longevity of its battery life. This flagship should comfortably handle a few hours of gaming during the day, along with regular daily usage, and still retain sufficient charge by the end of the day.

    Charging test

Charging test to see time taken to charge from 20 to 100 percent (lower is better)

    SmartphonesCharging time
    iQOO 1323 minutes
    Vivo X200 Pro42 minutes
    OPPO Find X8 Pro49 minutes
    iPhone 16 Pro94 minutes

    Winner:
    iQOO 13

The iQOO 13 supports the fastest charging speed among the lot at up to 120W, which is how it is able to charge from 20 to 100 percent the quickest (23 minutes). The Vivo X200 Pro was the second fastest to charge using a bundled 90W charger, with the OPPO Find X8 Pro close behind. Unsurprisingly, the iPhone 16 Pro is the slowest to charge.

Real-world context: All three Android phones support good charging speeds that allow you to quickly top-up the battery if you need to leave for work in a rush. The iQOO 13 is, of course, the best of the lot as it charges in less than half an hour, but the X200 Pro isn’t a slouch by any means. It also supports 30W wireless charging, which isn’t the fastest among Android flagships out there but is a good option to have nonetheless.

    Final verdict

The Vivo X200 Pro is a reliable as far as battery is concerned because not only does it deliver a long-lasting battery life but it also charges at a decently fast rate, even if it doesn’t reach iQOO 13-level speeds. The X200 Pro will ensure battery drain is minimal when gaming or streaming. It seems to be one of the better battery backup flagships for 2025, but we’ll have to wait and see how upcoming high-end phones like the OnePlus 13, Galaxy S25, and others perform.

    • If you’re looking for a flagship phone that delivers strong battery backup for gaming and streaming, the Vivo X200 Pro is a good way to go.
    • If fast charging speeds is more to your taste, the iQOO 13 is an easy pick as it offers exceptionally fast charging speeds while being an affordable flagship.
    • The OPPO Find X8 Pro isn’t the best in the battery department, but it is a solid camera phone that gives the Vivo X200 Pro a tough competition.
