Vivo X300 Ultra, X300s launching in China on March 30th, design unveiled with photography kit
Vivo has confirmed (via) March 30th as the launch date of its next set of flagship devices in China – the X300 Ultra, X300s, and Pad 6 Pro. In the run-up to the event, the company has revealed the design of the two phones, along with details on the most important component of Vivo’s X-series flagships, the cameras.
Both the X300 Ultra and X300s arrive with a new ‘Film Green’ finish that draws inspiration from classic camera styling without feeling dated. The prominent circular camera module is central to the design as usual. There’s a new in-house colour system inspired by film photography called Blueprint Native Color. It prioritises more natural skin tones, better handling of light and shadow, and images that look less processed. On the X300 Ultra, this extends to video as well. New modes like Film Style and Film Look will aim to recreate cinematic framing, motion blur, and colour grading straight out of the camera, without needing heavy edits later.

The hardware is equally ambitious. The X300 Ultra is expected to feature a 200MP Sony LYT-901 sensor and could pair it with another 200MP periscope lens. If that combination materialises, it would put Vivo possibly ahead of the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy S Ultra lineup and Apple’s iPhone Pro models in raw camera hardware. There’s also a 400mm telephoto extender kit, branded ‘Cannon 400,’ designed for extreme zoom scenarios, along with a more portable ‘Lipstick 200’ option. The kit is said to be compatible with both models.
Video capabilities are also a highlight. Support for 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording across multiple focal lengths, along with Dolby Vision, suggests Vivo is targeting not just photographers but also serious video users.
The X300s, while still camera-focused, feels more balanced for day-to-day use. It is confirmed to feature a 200MP Zeiss-tuned camera, a large 7,100mAh battery, a 144Hz display, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It is expected to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s chip. In contrast, the Ultra and the Pad 6 Pro will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform.
The X300 Ultra seems to be the device for those who want top-tier camera hardware with advanced video tools, which push limits of smartphone photography. The X300s is the more practical flagship, built for longer usage, smoother performance, and fewer compromises in everyday scenarios.
In a premium market still dominated by Samsung and Apple, Vivo’s approach stands out for how strongly it backs imaging as a differentiator. The addition of external camera hardware and film-style processing shows the company is experimenting with how smartphones change and evolve the photography game.
The Vivo X300 Ultra is tipped to launch globally and in India this time. If camera flexibility and video capabilities sit at the top of the list, the X300 Ultra is one of the more interesting devices to watch this year. If battery life, display smoothness, and consistent performance matter more, the X300s could end up being the easier phone to live with, without spending that extra buck for the Ultra.
