Vivo is clearly on a launch spree. After introducing the X300 series in India last year, the brand followed it up with the X200T (review) in January, while the Vivo V70 is also expected to debut soon. Beyond the Indian market, Vivo is preparing to launch the X300 Max and X300 Ultra in its home market of China. But that’s not all. Vivo appears to be expanding its X300 lineup further and is also gearing up for the successor to its book-style foldable smartphone. Both devices have now left early traces online, hinting that their development is moving ahead steadily.
As exclusively reported by Smartprix, the Vivo X300e and the Vivo X Fold6 have been spotted on the GSMA IMEI database, which is used by mobile networks worldwide to identify devices. The listing doesn’t reveal any other details about the smartphones, other than their names, strongly indicating that the devices are real and progressing through the final stages before an official announcement.

The Vivo X Fold6 will succeed the X Fold5, which stood out in 2025 as an excellent value-for-money foldable. Its only real drawback was the use of a previous-generation chipset, a decision that left it trailing rival foldables in terms of outright performance. Hopefully, Vivo won’t repeat that compromise with its next-generation book-style foldable.
According to the report, the Vivo X Fold6 has appeared in three separate entries on the GSMA database. These multiple model numbers likely point to different regional variants, including a global version, a China-specific model, and possibly special editions featuring varying connectivity or network standards. These are mere conjectures, so take the news with a grain of salt.
The Vivo X300e appears to be an entirely new addition to the brand’s portfolio. There has been no smartphone with the same naming in previous X-series lineups, suggesting that Vivo is expanding the range rather than reviving an older sub-brand. With its arrival, the X300e would become the fifth model in the series, joining the Vivo X300, X300 Pro, X300 Max, and X300 Ultra.

Historically, smartphones carrying an “e” suffix are positioned below the standard variant in terms of pricing and specifications, and Vivo has followed this strategy before. The company adopted a similar approach with the V60 series last year, where the Vivo V60e model sat beneath the regular version. If that pattern holds, the Vivo X300e is likely to debut as a more affordable entry point into the X300 lineup.
To recall, the Vivo X300 is priced in India starting at Rs 75,999. The handset boasts a flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC, promising cameras with a 200MP primary sensor, good battery life, and a nice display. Overall, it is an impressive device. While nothing is confirmed at this stage, the Vivo X300e could inherit much of this core experience while making strategic cuts to hit a lower price point. If that turns out to be the case, the X300e may bring the essence of the X300 series to a wider audience, positioning itself as a more accessible entry into Vivo’s flagship lineup.
Vivo has yet to officially confirm the existence of either smartphone, and even if they are currently in development, their launches may still be some time away. That said, going by Vivo’s past release cycle, there are a few clues worth noting. The Vivo X Fold5 debuted in India in July, which suggests that its successor could follow a similar timeline, assuming the brand sticks to its usual launch window.
If you can afford to wait until then for your next foldable, that’s fine. Otherwise, the Vivo X Fold5 (review) remains a capable and well-rounded option even today. For buyers unwilling to compromise on performance, alternatives like the Galaxy Z Fold7 (review) and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold (review) are also worth considering, although they are priced noticeably higher than the X Fold5.
