Motorola One Vision review: a solid effort

The Motorola One Vision is the first phone in India with a 21:9 display

Jun 24 2019 By Deepak Dhingra
PROS
  • Good design and build
  • Decent performance and battery life
  • Capable cameras
CONS
  • Feels slightly overpriced
  • Overshadowed by the competition
  • Punch hole has an unsightly border
Verdict

Priced at Rs 19,999, the Motorola One Vision is a solid all-rounder. Unfortunately for it, its main rivals are simply more powerful, offer better camera capabilities and are priced lower in comparison. The Redmi Note 7 Pro (review) may be its nemesis, but others like the Realme 3 Pro (review), Samsung Galaxy A50 (review), Galaxy M40 (review), and even the Nokia 8.1 (review) with its current pricing, are all very capable, and worthy alternatives.Having said that, you should note that the One Vision ticks most boxes right, and scores reasonably high in many aspects, including design and build quality, performance, camera quality and battery life. While the 21:9 screen may or may not help its cause, other aspects like Night Vision, and the Android One platform with signature Moto features certainly do. If only it had been priced slightly lower, the One Vision would have been a compelling option for everyone, but for now, Android purists could definitely find it appealing.

Good Phone.
19 Jan 2020 By ven On amazon.in

It's a good phone to them, whose concern related to battery life and calls. It's very smooth in hand with motorola in box case.Dual 4g works nicely. Battery lasts approx 2days in normal use and if you close data time to time. With all day data opened you need to charge it once in a day.Rear Camera is good and works in low light but there need to pretty good improvement in front camera. Not satisfied with selfie cam.Sensor is good and reliable.Phone heating is miles away.Never faced any issue in past two months.Overall experience is good. Moto is a reliable brand and this you can use at least two year freely.

It is actually possible that you have a VoLte supported phone but you are not able to use it because you haven't enabled it yet.

    1. Following is the universal method to enable Volte for all android phone:
    2. Dial *#*#4636#*#*
    3. Select Volte Provisioned flag under Phone Information
    4. Restart your phone.

The other simple way includes enabling from call setting:

    1. Open Dialer app.
    2. Click on three dots for Settings.
    3. Go in Sim & Network.
    4. Look for Volte option.
    5. Enable the radio button
    6. You are good to go.

It is a good option to hide or lock your apps to save you from a mini heart attack when someone takes your phone, or keep some applications personal to you.

With new features being added up in new Android versions, this has also been added.

You are likely to find in Settings under Utilities. (Different for Different Androids)

Another way is to get an Application from the Play Store.
The most popular one which I am also using in App Lock. It allows fingerprint unlocking also.
    To install it:
    1. Go to Play store and search for App Lock.
    2. Download the application with this icon
    3. Image result for app lock
    4. Download and Install it.
    5. Now, launch the application.
    6. Setup password and Recovery Questions.
    7. Now you can select the applications you wish to lock.
    8. You can also hide your pictures and video inside Vault.

    **Best Feature**
You can hide the App Lock application itself and then open it using:
    Dialer or Browser.

Flash Notifications are used to give Flash Alerts when you get a Call / SMS.

This feature is already there is most phones by going to:

    1. Settings > Accessibility > Hearing > Flash Alerts
    2. Toggle there to turn it ON/OFF.

This is really beneficial in alerting without making any sound.

    • Don't get dishearted if your phone does not have this feature. There are a number of apps available on Play Store.
    • I'll personally recommend you to use the app named Flash Notification available in play store. It is really easy to use and you can enable it for particular apps and for different sound profiles(Ring/Vibrate/DND).

Video calling was never this easier. VoLte is all IP Based and allows you to make video calls from native dialing applications.

Your phone must support 4G VoLte to use the feature. If your phone is not Volte enabled, you can use widely used: Jio4GVoice" application to get your work done.

To enable inbuilt 4G Video Calling
    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Go to SIM and Network.
    3. Select preferred sim and Enable the Volte and Video call option.
Other best way to make a video call is to use one of the popular video calling application.
