A lot has changed since our last best-performance phones ranking in December 2025. Several new flagship devices have launched in India, there’s an entirely new segment of sub-flagship launches around Rs 60,000, and the established price categories of nearly all devices have shifted upwards by roughly 20 percent owing to the global memory shortages.
We need to adapt to these circumstances as well, and in this latest edition of the best-performing phones in India, we bring you the top performers in these new price categories, backed by extensive testing data and real-world usage. Let’s get started!
Table of Contents
Selection Criteria
We have organised our picks into five price categories to suit different budgets:
- Under Rs 15,000
- Under Rs 30,000
- Rs 40,000-Rs 60,000
- Rs 60,000 – Rs 80,000
- Flagships (price no bar)
For our technical analysis, we rely on AnTuTu and Geekbench scores, the latter focused on multi-core results, which help us estimate its multitasking capabilities. However, numbers alone don’t capture the full user experience. That’s why we also conduct a 60-minute gaming test, playing both BGMI and COD Mobile for 30 minutes each.
To ensure a fair comparison, we use consistent game settings across each price segment, though real-world stability and thermal performance naturally vary. The phone that delivers the best overall performance in each bracket earns the top spot. The final rankings are determined by the 91mobiles performance rating, a metric that combines benchmark scores, gaming performance, and real-world user experience.
Best performance phones under Rs 15,000
Winner: The only segment that remains unchanged from last year is the budget segment, and dominating the budget segment is the Lava Play Ultra (review). It lives up to its name and stands out as the top performer in this category. Its AnTuTu and Geekbench scores are impressive, and gaming performance is excellent for a sub-Rs 15,000 phone. Quite interestingly, all the contenders in this price range use a similar Dimensity 7300 SoC, so overall results remain quite close.
Runners-up: In second place is the iQOO Z10x (review), another strong performer. It matches the Lava Play Ultra’s AnTuTu results, delivers higher Geekbench scores, and holds a slight edge in gaming performance. However, it tends to run warmer under load, which affects sustained performance.
At third place is the Infinix Note 50s (6GB RAM variant). Despite posting similar benchmark numbers and good gaming results, it lags slightly in thermal efficiency due to its slim design. Still, if you prefer a sleek yet capable phone, the Note 50s is great for its price.
Best performance phones around Rs 30,000
Winner: Coming in at the top here is the POCO F7 (review). It uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, which catapults it to the top in our rankings, thanks to its impressive benchmark performance. It remains even more impressive in gaming, as it runs titles just a bit smoother and manages heat better during extended use compared to its peers.
Runners-up: In second place is the OPPO K13 Turbo (review), the brand’s first dedicated gaming phone. While its overall performance is a step behind POCO F7, its gaming focus is unmatched in this price range. Thanks to its built-in cooling fan, it maintains excellent thermal efficiency, making it one of the most consistent performers under load.
At number three is the OnePlus Nord 5 (review), which runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. It is a bit behind its peers in terms of benchmarks, but it leads the trio when it comes to gaming performance. The Nord 5 is the most balanced phone out of the three phones and still delivers impressive performance.
Best performance phones Rs 40,000 – Rs 60,000
Winner: We’ve introduced a new price range that covers the brand-new launches within this price bracket, and the winner of this segment is the OnePlus 15R (review). It features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, which sits just below the flagship 8 Elite Gen 5 in terms of performance. It shows solid performance in benchmarks, and its gaming results are excellent too, making it lead the segment despite being the most affordable option here.
Runners-up: The first runner-up is the Motorola Signature (review), which shares the same chipset as the OnePlus 15R. Unlike the OnePlus 15R, which is a performance-focused device, the new Motorola Signature is a proper flagship by the brand and a well-rounded device in all aspects. This also means it isn’t tuned to deliver the greatest power but rather to be a balanced offering across the board.
The second runner-up is the Vivo X200T (review), another sub-flagship that serves as the entry point for the Vivo X-series phones. Similar to the Motorola Signature, this is a balanced all-rounder and happens to deliver excellent performance too, thanks to last year’s flagship Dimensity 9400 SoC. Its benchmark and gaming numbers sit just a smidge behind the other two, landing it in third place.
Best performance phones Rs 60,000 – Rs 80,000
Winner: This particular category has also been revised to include the newer launches that sit between these price points. The winner is the new Realme GT 8 Pro (review), the brand’s newest flagship with some exceptional cameras. It’s also a performance powerhouse thanks to the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and registers the highest AnTuTu score in our testing yet. Its high benchmark scores and solid gaming results make it the clear winner amongst the new flagships.
Runners-up: Coming in at number 2 is the new OnePlus 15 (review), with the brand shifting focus towards delivering better performance than ever before. It’s pretty evident given the gaming results we got from this device. While it remains a better gaming device, its performance is no less impressive than its peers, positioning it at this rank.
In third place is another regular, the latest iQOO 15 (review). Like all other winners in this category, this device also uses the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and offers better performance in benchmarks than even the OnePlus 15. Where it falls behind, however, is in gaming numbers, where the OnePlus 15 manages to take the lead.
Best flagship performance phones
Winner: The new leader in the best performance category is the Vivo X300 Pro (review), which comes with the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC. Another reason for the ranking is that we’ve yet to see a device with the competing Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset here. For now, the Vivo X300 delivers the best benchmark and gaming performance we’ve seen yet from a full flagship.
Runners-up: Coming in at number two is the OPPO Find X9 Pro (review), another Dimensity 9500-powered smartphone that delivers excellent performance. It has a lower Geekbench score, however, which makes it fall in ranks compared to the Vivo flagship.
At number three is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (review), holding the fort from last year. It features the Snapdragon 8 Elite, so its performance is naturally a step behind the latest flagships, but its performance is no doubt still impressive. The Geekbench numbers in particular still rank near the top of the segment.
