Just over 2 weeks ago, we put the most popular smartphones under Rs 30,000 through a blind camera comparison to know which ones are the best among them. These phones were the iQOO Z11x (review), Motorola Edge 70 Fusion (review), OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite (review), and Redmi Note 15 (review).
We shot the same scenes across different lighting conditions and asked you to vote for the best photo in each category, without knowing which phone took it. With over 1500 votes so far, we finally have the results, although with an unexpected twist. We will now go through each round, show you which phone came out on top, and break down why that image may have stood out to most of you. Let’s get started!
Table of Contents
Winner: Motorola Edge 70 Fusion
The daylight round went to the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion (review), and there are a few reasons we can see why. The sky in its image looks bright and vibrant, and the building has punchy reds and blues, along with a great contrast level.
The overall image also appears quite sharp and cohesive, which likely prompted the voters to select it.
Winner: iQOO Z11x
The iQOO Z11x (review)‘s portrait shot likely won due to a few key factors. At first glance, its image appears quite a bit warmer compared to the other three devices. The image is also substantially brighter compared to the other competitors.
The subject’s face appears lively and the skin colours are rendered nicely. The image also isolates the subject better than its competition. All these factors likely contributed to the phone’s top position in this category.
Winner: Redmi Note 15
When you look at the pictures below, you’ll see why most users chose the Redmi Note 15 (review)’s image. It offers a sharp, detailed output which captures the subject’s facial details and background extremely well.
In terms of colour profile, Note 15 balances accuracy and vibrancy very carefully. It preserves the skin tone while improving the reds slightly to give it a more vibrant look. Finally, the image has a contrast level, which makes it look more put together compared to the other shots, which can look slightly hazy at times.
Winner: OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite
This round was a close call between the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite (review) and Motorola Edge 70 Fusion, with both images looking pretty similar at first glance. Looking deeper, however, you’ll see why the Nord CE6 Lite took the lead eventually.
The Nord’s image is a little more believable in terms of overall exposure and colours, while the Edge 70 Fusion’s image looks more “enhanced”. Other factors like lens flare control also come into play where the Nord’s image controls the light’s source spread more evenly, giving it a sharper look.
This is the first time we’ve had a blind camera comparison end in a tie. Every phone here does one particular shooting scenario better than the others, and thus there’s truly no way to put one above the others.
However, if we had to choose one, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion (review) would be our choice here. Under Rs 30,000, only the Edge 70 Fusion and Redmi Note 15 (review) are the phones that include an ultrawide lens, which makes them more versatile. Between these two, the Edge 70 Fusion is a consistent frontrunner in the polls, which proves just how capable its cameras really are.
The daylight category is the most common shooting scenario and not that hard to do well, but we consider the low-light category to be the trickiest scenario. Since the Motorola wins the daylight category and loses by a very close margin in the low-light category, it is our choice for the best camera phone among these four.
With the ongoing memory shortage and the resulting price hikes in smartphones, loaded camera capabilities in the under Rs 30,000 segment are becoming increasingly scarce. If you’ve been looking for a phone in this budget that offers a well-rounded camera setup, you won’t go wrong with the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion.
Thank you for your time, and stay tuned until we bring you the next blind camera comparison!
