DailyObjects NODE Wireless Charging Ecosystem overview: making charging look good
Many of us juggle multiple portable devices on a daily basis, and charging them regularly is an inevitability we have to live with. Charging solutions like power banks, charging stands, wireless chargers and high-wattage multi-port chargers focus on convenience, but the NODE from DailyObjects is one that focuses on aesthetics. It’s a modular charging solution that actually looks good, and since it’s wireless, convenience is part of the deal. Designed primarily for iPhone users, the NODE also works with Google Pixel smartphones, Samsung flagships, and pretty much any phone out there that can be charged wirelessly. Let me give you a closer look.
The NODE Wireless Charging Ecosystem features four different modules — a wireless charging phone stand, a wireless charging disk, an Apple Watch Charging Stand, and a portable lamp. You can buy any two or any three of these modules depending on your requirements, and accordingly opt for a 2-in-1 or a 3-in1 wireless charging dock.
The dock is essentially a base plate that can accommodate two modules (or three, if you choose the 3-in-1 version). The dock also has a USB Type-C port on the back, and DailyObjects includes a 100W Type-C to Type-C cable in the pack. Just get any compatible adapter (DailyObjects recommends a 65W adapter for peak performance), connect it to the dock via the provided cable, and place the modules on the circular spots provided.
Let’s take a look at each of the modules individually.
Wireless Charging Phone Stand
A MagSafe-enabled magnetic power bank, it has a 7,800mAh battery and supports Qi2.2 charging at up to 25W speeds. There’s a Type-C port on the back, and it can be used via the dock or independently. Of course, since it has a built-in battery, it doesn’t need to be connected to a power socket to juice up your phone. Its curved design however, means it’s not very convenient to use as a portable power bank when you’re out and about, but you can easily move it from one room to another.
The MagSafe design accepts any iPhone, Google Pixel smartphone or any other smartphone that can be charged wirelessly (you would require a case with MagSafe functionality), and it charges the connected device quite fast too. The only issue is that unlike most other power banks, it doesn’t indicate remaining battery levels.
Wireless Charging Disk
This small, puck-shaped device also has a Type-C port on the back, so you can use it while docked on the base or directly when connected to a cable and a compatible adapter. This disk also supports Qi2.2 charging up to 25W, and can attach magnetically to any MagSafe-enabled smartphone. However, since you can place the smartphone flat on it, you don’t necessarily need a MagSafe-enabled smartphone — it can juice up any phone or TWS buds that can be charged wirelessly.
The one niggle I faced in my usage actually involved charging MagSafe-enabled smartphones. Since the Disk attaches magnetically, lifting the phone off also pulls the Disk out from the dock, and you need to detach it manually. A non-MagSafe phone however, can be lifted straight off.
Portable Lamp
Next up, the lamp. Aesthetically designed, this portable ambient lamp outputs soft light, and works as the perfect bedside accessory. It features three dimming modes, and you can cycle through them using the power key on top, right below the yellow carry handle. On the back is a dedicated Type-C port for charging its built-in 2,600mAh battery that promises up to 8 hours of operation, though you can just place it on the dock to charge it wirelessly too. Among all the modules that you can get with the NODE, the lamp is the lifestyle choice — while it’s not capable of charging any device, it works well as the module that helps elevate the aesthetics of the charging ecosystem.
Apple Watch Charging Stand
As is evident from the name, this module is designed specifically for Apple Watch users. Again, it has a Type-C port at the back, so you can use it docked or directly. It offers 5W wireless charging for the Apple Watch and works with all models. The design features an elevated arch and magnetic suction to hold the watch in place while it’s charging.
To conclude
Here’s a look at the pricing of the different components.
| Module | Price |
| 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock | Rs 3,499 |
| 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock | Rs 2,999 |
| Wireless Charging Phone Stand | Rs 6,499 |
| Wireless Charging Disk | Rs 3,499 |
| Portable Lamp | Rs 4,499 |
| Apple Watch Charging Stand | Rs 2,999 |
The set will cost you a minimum of Rs 9,497 as per the listed MRP if you opt for the 2-in-1 dock along with a couple of the lowest-priced modules, the Wireless Charging Disk and the Apple Watch Charging Stand. Fully loaded, the 3-in-1 dock with the lamp, charging disk and Wireless Charging Phone Stand will set you back by Rs 17,996.
So as you can make out, the NODE Wireless Charging Ecosystem doesn’t come cheap, and is more a lifestyle purchase than a gadget or accessory. While the end goal might be to juice up a bunch of devices simultaneously and conveniently, it gives you something that also looks aesthetic and livens up the space where it’s placed. DailyObjects deserves kudos for the NODE’s innovative design for sure.
At the end of the day, you’re paying for something that helps you charge multiple devices together, conveniently and without any cable clutter, and it’s the only device I know of that makes charging look good.
