Amazon expands Smartchoice feature to 10 product categories in India
Amazon has expanded its Smartchoice feature to 10 consumer electronics categories, making it one of the most comprehensive guided shopping experiences for electronics buyers in India. The feature is designed to help customers discover products based on their specific needs rather than spending time comparing endless specifications.
Smartchoice, which was already available for products like laptops, tablets, and cameras, has now expanded to include air conditioners, monitors, PC accessories, and wearables. Amazon says TVs and smartphones will be added soon.
How Amazon Smartchoice works
The feature offers expert-curated recommendations across 30 different use cases. For example, a college student shopping for a laptop receives different suggestions compared to a gamer or a remote worker. Similarly, first-time AC buyers get recommendations based on room size and energy efficiency, while fitness enthusiasts can explore wearables tailored for activity tracking.
According to Amazon, customers using Smartchoice spend 25 percent less time researching before making a purchase. The company also noted that tier 2 and tier 3 cities account for 65 percent of Smartchoice purchases, with buyers increasingly opting for premium and higher-spec products.
Several leading brands are featured in Smartchoice recommendations. Some of these include Intel-powered non-gaming laptops, ASUS, and HP for AI PC selections. NVIDIA for gaming products, Lenovo for productivity tablets, and LG and BenQ for monitors. LG and Samsung are also among the top brands in refrigerators and air conditioners.
Alongside the expansion, Amazon has announced the Smartchoice Days sale, which started on June 11th. The event has deals of up to 60 percent off, along with No Cost EMI and bank offers across categories such as laptops, tablets, ACs, monitors, wearables, and more.
Amazon said Smartchoice works alongside its AI-powered shopping tools, including Rufus, Lens AI, AI-generated review summaries, and Price History, to make electronics shopping faster and more convenient.
