BenQ launches ScreenBar Halo 2 in India with smarter lighting and refined design
Taiwanese tech brand BenQ has launched its new flagship monitor light, the ScreenBar Halo 2, in India for professionals, creators, and gamers who work in low light or under changing lighting conditions. Stemming from four years of research, the new model offers wider lighting coverage, updated controls, and a fresh design.
The BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2 is available through BenQ’s India E-Store, Amazon India, and select retail outlets at a price of Rs 17,490.
The company claims the ScreenBar Halo 2 boasts a 423 percent wider coverage compared to the previous generation, thanks to a new triple-curvature backlight design and an upgraded dual-light system for even illumination of a workspace.
The Halo 2 aims to minimise general problems caused by regular desk lamps like screen glare and poor lighting. Using BenQ’s ASYM Light optical technology along with an 18-degree asymmetrical cut-off angle, the ScreenBar directs the light onto the desk surface instead of the monitor, helping to prevent reflections and reducing eye strain when working for long periods.
BenQ has also redesigned the control system. The new wireless dial is coated with an anti-fingerprint finish that will let users adjust brightness smoothly from 0 to 100 per cent and switch colour temperature between 2700K and 6500K. The updated controller, according BenQ, is intended to provide precision for colour grading, editing, and late-night productivity.
The mounting mechanism has also been refined. Instead of traditional clips, the Halo 2 uses a gravity-inspired zinc-alloy mount that rests gently on monitors of different thicknesses, including curved models. This helps in minimising damage while maintaining stability. The company claims the new system is designed to be more screen-friendly and easier to set up.
Other features include auto-dimming, motion detection that turns the light on upon the return of its user to the desk, and memory settings that save preferred lighting modes. These are included to make daily use convenient and energy-efficient.
