Logitech has launched its new Signature Slim Solar+ K980 wireless keyboard in India. It’s a full-size keyboard that the brand says runs entirely on light, eliminating the need for cables or manual charging. The keyboard is powered by the brand’s in-house Logi LightCharge technology, allowing it to stay charged even in sunlight or artificial indoor lighting.

The Logitech Signature Slim Solar+ K980 is priced at Rs 12,295 and is available in Graphite colour. The keyboard is now on sale through Amazon.
Starting with the design, the K980 keyboard features a full-sized layout, laptop-style scissor keys and a slim profile. The brand says it is designed for users who want a clutter-free experience, as it features a sheer wireless use case. It boasts multi-device connectivity with Easy Switch keys, which is supposed to let you toggle typing between a PC, laptop, tablet and smartphone. It also comes with multi OS support, which includes Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android.
The Logi Options+ app allows users to customise shortcuts, assign Smart Actions, and use the dedicated AI Launch Key to instantly open tools like Copilot, Gemini, or ChatGPT (except on the Mac version).
Logitech continues its focus on sustainability. The graphite version of the Solar+ K980 uses 70% certified recycled plastic and includes a battery rated to last up to 10 years, reducing the need for replacements. Furthermore, the brand also claims the keyboard can run for up to four months in total darkness once fully charged, which makes it one of the most low-maintenance wireless keyboards in the mainstream market.
Given how few keyboards still rely on light or solar charging, you might find Logitech’s solar-powered keyboards a very practical option. If you are in the market for these types of keyboards and searching for something in a tighter budget, then you might find the Acer Solarix keyboard a viable option, as it’s significantly cheaper than Logitech’s keyboard.
