Microsoft’s Surface lineup has typically been seen as premium and aspirational, often priced out of reach for most buyers in India. With the new Surface Pro 12-inch starting at Rs 90,999, it still sits in the high-end segment, but this is one of the most affordable Surface devices yet. The pricing could appeal to professionals and students who have always wanted to own a Surface but found earlier models too expensive.

Microsoft Surface Pro 12-inch features

The new Surface Pro features a 12-inch display in a slim, 680-gram design. It is powered by the Snapdragon X Plus processor paired with an integrated NPU capable of 45 TOPS, making it optimised for AI workloads. Microsoft claims up to 16 hours of battery life, with support for video playback on a single charge.

The device retains its 2-in-1 form factor, featuring a built-in kickstand and detachable keyboard, making it ideal for designers. Buyers who pre-order will receive the Surface Pro 12-inch Keyboard, worth Rs 15,199, for free. The keyboard also has a dedicated Copilot key, a precision touchpad, and folds flat for sketching or writing with the Surface Slim Pen, which magnetically attaches for charging and storage.

On the sustainability front, Microsoft states that the Surface Pro enclosure is constructed with 82.9% recycled materials, while the battery utilises 100% recycled cobalt.

Last but not least, as a Copilot+ PC, the Surface Pro 12 supports recall, which allows users to retrace steps to apps, websites, images, or documents. Alongside this, there’s also Click to Do, which identifies on-screen text/images and suggests actions paired with the Settings agent, helping to describe and fix system issues. There’s also Photos Relight that enables AI-driven lighting effects for photos.
