Samsung has extended Galaxy AI support to Gujarati and Filipino, taking the number of languages supported by the suite to 22. The update began rolling out on October 29th, signalling Samsung’s focus on expanding AI accessibility for more users across key markets such as India.
With this rollout, Gujarati becomes the second Indian language supported by Galaxy AI after Hindi. The addition signals Samsung’s effort to make its AI tools more inclusive for India’s linguistically diverse user base, as the country is one of the largest and fastest-growing smartphone markets for the brand.
Galaxy AI powers a suite of intelligent features dedicated to making communication simpler and productivity higher. These include Live Translate with real-time, two-way translations; Interpreter with instant, in-person translations via split-screen view; Chat Assist for tone-matching messages; and Note Assist with AI-driven summaries and templates. Other capabilities like Transcript Assist and Browsing Assist enable users to process voice recordings and online content more smoothly.
The Gujarati language pack has been developed in collaboration with the Samsung R&D Institute India at Bengaluru. “By adding Gujarati in our spectrum, we’re enabling native speakers to seamlessly use popular Galaxy AI features like Call Assist & Interpreter-all powered by advanced on-device AI,” says Giridhar Jakki, Senior Director & Head of Language AI Team.
India has emerged as one of Samsung’s strongest markets for AI adoption. According to the company, 91 percent of Galaxy S25 users in India actively engage with Galaxy AI features-far higher than the global average of 70 percent. Following its debut with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy AI is now on track to reach over 400 million devices globally by the end of 2025, nearly doubling from 2024.
Users in India will be able to download the Gujarati language pack through the Galaxy device Settings app starting October 29th.
