Samsung today announced that the new Galaxy Z Fold8 series and Galaxy Z Flip8 have recorded strong pre-order demand globally, setting new milestones for the company’s foldable lineup. Globally, pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8 are 30 percent higher than the previous generation. The announcement comes shortly after Samsung revealed it set a new record for pre-orders in India.
In India, Samsung said it received over 2.71 lakh pre-orders for the new foldables within 72 hours of their launch on July 22. The company noted that it took 15 days to achieve a similar number of pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 last year.
Among the available colour options, Graphite emerged as the most popular choice for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8, while Pink led pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip8.
The latest lineup includes three foldables aimed at different users. The Galaxy Z Fold8 features a redesigned form factor, a lighter 201g body, a wider cover display, and AI features such as Gemini Notebook. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra adds an 8-inch main display, a 200MP HDR primary camera, a new 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging, and measures 4.1mm when unfolded.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip8 focuses on portability with a redesigned FlexWindow, Gemini access from the cover screen, personalised Now Brief, and a 50MP camera with FlexCam features.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at Rs 1,99,999, the Galaxy Z Fold8 at Rs 1,79,999, and the Galaxy Z Flip8 at Rs 1,24,999. The devices are now available through Samsung’s online and offline retail channels. Samsung has also introduced what it calls the industry’s first 30-month no-cost EMI option for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8.
