Thomson launches new QLED MEMC TV series in India: 55″, 65″ and 75″ models starting at Rs 31,999

Thomson has expanded its QLED TV portfolio in India with the launch of its new QLED MEMC Smart TV lineup. The series targets buyers who want smoother motion and brighter panels without pushing into the premium price tier. It’s yet another example of how budget TV brands are upping the stakes, turning standard TVs into fully loaded entertainment hubs. Here’s what the new Thomson range brings to the table.

Features and specifications

The new Thomson lineup features a QLED 4K display across all sizes, supporting 1.1 billion colours, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. That means users can expect more accurate colours, deeper contrast and noticeably richer picture quality for compatible content. Thomson also includes 120Hz MEMC (HSR) along with VRR and ALLM.

While this isn’t a native 120Hz panel, the combination should offer visibly cleaner motion, especially during gaming and fast-moving sports, compared to standard 60Hz TVs. The company is offering 550 nits of peak brightness, which is fairly competitive given the pricing and puts it in the same ballpark as other value-tier QLED alternatives.

In the audio department, TVs come equipped with a 70W stereo box speaker setup featuring four speakers, backed by Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus. For most buyers, this should provide a fuller, more immersive experience without needing a soundbar right away.

Like most new budget QLED models, the Thomson QLED MEMC series runs on Google TV 5.0, offering access to 10,000+ apps, 500,000+ movies and TV shows, built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant, hotkeys for Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube. This ensures a modern, content-heavy smart TV experience with intuitive navigation.

Inside, the TV packs 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, ensuring decent multitasking for apps. Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, multiple HDMI and USB ports for consoles, soundbars, and other devices. It features a bezel-less AirSlim design, which keeps the overall look sleek and modern.

Price and availability

All three models are available exclusively on Flipkart, starting November 24.

How it compares to rivals

Much like Kodak’s new MotionX QLED lineup (launched recently with the same screen sizes and nearly identical specs), Thomson’s range is clearly positioned for value-driven buyers in the sub-Rs 70,000 large-screen category.

Since Thomson, Kodak and Blaupunkt TVs in India are all manufactured by SPPL, it’s not surprising to see overlapping specs, similar pricing and matching panel characteristics across all three brands. For customers, this translates to more choice within the same performance bracket.
