We review Xiaomi s latest, the Redmi Note 7 Pro
Mar 22 2019 By Deepak DhingraAs per the findings from a recent survey we conducted online, the Rs 10k - Rs 20k price segment is the most popular among smartphone users in India currently, and that`s exactly where the Redmi Note 7 Pro sits… with its lower variant going slightly below the Rs 15k mark. This segment has quite a few powerful and notable contenders, including the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 (review), and the OPPO K1 (first impressions). Plus, the upcoming Realme 3 Pro is bound to present solid competition too. However, the biggest competition is likely to come from Samsung, which has two worthy options in this class, namely the Galaxy A50 (review) and the Galaxy M30 (first impressions), both of which boast triple camera setups at the rear. While the A50 is priced a tad higher and gets things into POCO F1 (review) territory, the Galaxy M30 is priced in the same range as the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The wide-angle shooters on the M30 could very well tip the scales in its favour, as it provides really useful functionality. Plus, Samsung`s Super AMOLED displays are still the best in the business. Clearly, Samsung has gotten its act together and the coming months are likely to see strong rivalry from the top two smartphone brands in India. So while the Redmi Note 7 Pro seems to be a turning point in the brand`s journey, Xiaomi will need to pull up its socks and work hard to retain its top spot in the country. All said and done, the Redmi Note 7 has what it takes to rise above the rest and come across as a solid, compelling option. While Xiaomi has its task cut out in order to ensure it issues a few software updates to fix the niggles we reported, the device ticks most boxes - premium glass design, powerful specs, capable cameras and good battery life. The Note 7 Pro stands out as yet another VFM smartphone from the brand, and the one that deserves your hard-earned cash if you`re looking for a daily driver priced south of Rs 18k.

Ordered this in the first sale to put a review on our website(SuggestPhone). Here's a brief review with the pros cons and ratings. Pros: + Solid Build + Nice Display + Powerful Chipset (SD 675) + Lag Free Performance + No Heating + 2 Day Battery + Best Front and Rear Cameras + Quick Charge 3.0 with USB Type C port + Case Provided in the box Cons: -Fast charger not bundled -Hybrid sim slot Ratings: Design: 8/10 Display: 8/10 Battery: 10/10 Back Camera: 10/10 Front Camera: 9/10 Processor: 10/10 Call Quality: 9/10 Face Unlock and Fingerprint: 9/10 Sound from Speakers: 9/10 Sound from Earphones: 8/10 Pricing: 10/10 Overall Rating: 10/10 Redmi Note 7 Pro is the next bet and brings back Redmi to the fight of a budget phone. This is a review from our team at Suggestphone. Design: Redmi Note 7 Pro sees a great improvement is a design with a glass back having Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both front and back. The phone looks good with a reflective back design and a dew drop notch. The design is one of the major improvements over the Redmi Note 6 Pro. Display: There is a Full HD Plus display (6.26 inches) which is very bright with perfect colors. It is treat to eyes while playing games and watching videos. The notch looks perfect and adds beauty to the screen. Battery: The battery capacity at 4000 mAh is the same as the Note 5 Pro and Note 6 Pro. For medium type usage, you get at least 1.5 days of battery. Most importantly the charger supports fast charging via type C port and you can charge in around 100 to 120 minutes. However, the fast charger is not included in the box. Performance: This is another biggest update, the Processor. Note 7 Pro comes with Snapdragon 675 compared to the SD636 in the previous generation phones. This processor is a beast and works super smoothly with all the multitasking and gaming you want to do on this phone. There is 4GB of RAM and 64 of internal storage. Camera: This is what you would have been waiting for. This phone has a primary 48 MP sensor on the rear camera and a 5 MP depth sensor. The rear camera clicks insane images and almost infinite details. You can zoom in a lot and can still see proper details. However, the images we clicked took a lot of storage space as MI told in the launch and the option of 48 MP comes only in the Pro mode which you can enable via camera app. On the front, we have a 13 MP sensor, and it takes crisp selfies with good color and contrast. Overall, the camera does a brilliant job and is rather one of the best cameras for under 25k phone (not just 15k). Pricing: Best as always. Xiaomi has never disappointed with the pricing and this phone also offers a great value for money. The price of 13999 only is surely due to competition otherwise this phone deserves a higher price point. Software The phone runs on the latest MIUI based on Android Pie and comes with some useful features. We have some bloatware as well but that has existed in all the Xiaomi phones. Summary Overall, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is the best phone and should be your top pick. It has a lot of improvements over the previous note series or rather any Xiaomi phone is this segment.
