During production, the printer responsible for the postal vehicles and police cars provided the number 420 for the police car. The joke wasn't lost on the crew and new numbers were requested and provided. However, the original 420 still appears on the police car in the movie.
The Cut Bank Penguin, (located at 1130 E. Main St., Cut Bank, MT, 48°37'47"N 112°19'01"W) which welcomes travelers to "CUT BANK MT. COLDEST SPOT IN THE NATION", was not relocated to the filming location, Innisfree, Alberta, Canada. Rather, a faithful replica was built for the production. It still stands, at the junction of 53rd Street and Railway Ave. South (53°22'58"N 111°31'50"W). Since filming was concluded, the Innisfree replica has been repainted, now reading, "WELCOME TO INNISFREE HOME OF THE CUT BANK PENGUIN".
An entire taxidermy shop was created and shot in the basement of the historical Bremner House in Strathcona County. This County is located just east of Edmonton Alberta.
"Joe Barrett: [throwing down his business card] USPI, Joe Barrett. Congratulations, kid. I'll send you your check as soon as the Sheriff does his paperwork. Shouldn't be more than a few months or so. Dwayne McLaren: I thought it was immediate. Joe Barrett: Nothing's immediate in this life - exception self-stimulation. And even that sometimes, you know, takes a little patience."
"Georgie Wits: You know what? I'm starting to think that you might be an asshole. It doesn't have to be like that. You can talk to me like a civilized fuckin' human being."
