Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels Review

Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels' is a great witty crime black comedy about four small town friends. The plot of the movie is impeccable and one of the most well put together plots I've ever seen. Everything about the movie is so good. This movie has a perfect balance of the dynamic action scenes, one liners, comedy scenes, and cockney dialogues. Though, movie has some really great dialogues but sometimes it does stutter a little in places with some dialogue delivery. It is an absolute Classic British gangster film with fantastic soundtrack. Every character has different personality and somewhat unique in themselves in addition to it character development is also great. The cast of the movie was brilliant. Jason Flemyng, Jason Statham, Dexter Fletcher, Nick Moran and others did perform wonderfully. Jason Statham with his so many stand out performance adds so much more fun to the movie. Its definitely a must watch for anyone who likes a dark humour genre.

TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The film was dedicated to Lenny McLean, who played Barry the Baptist. He died of lung cancer exactly one month before the film's premiere.

Jason Statham has worked as a street vendor in real life, similar to the character he plays in the opening of the film.

On Vinnie Jones' first day of filming, he had just been released from police custody - he had been arrested for beating up his neighbour.

The scene where Nick the Greek breaks the glass in the coffee table was not in the script. It was, in fact, an accident that happened during filming, and director Guy Ritchie decided to use it in the final cut.

The film was having trouble finding an American distributor when Trudie Styler called an acquaintance of hers - Tom Cruise. He attended a screening and loved the film. Matthew Vaughn later recalled, "It was hysterical. You had all these mid-level executives sitting there, and Cruise walked in. He saw them all sit up and pay attention, all getting on their phones, and suddenly all these senior executives joined the screening ... At the end, Tom got up in front of everyone and said 'This is the best movie I've seen in years, you guys would be fools not to buy it.'"

Popular Dialogues

"Bacon: What's that? Samoan Joe's Barman: It's a cocktail. You asked for a cocktail. Bacon: No. I asked you to give me a refreshing drink. I wasn't expecting a fucking rainforest! You could fall in love with an orangutan in that! Samoan Joe's Barman: You want a pint, you go to the pub. Bacon: I thought this was a pub! Samoan Joes Barman: It's a Samoan pub."

"Eddie: They're armed. Soap: What was that? Armed? What do you mean armed? Armed with what? Eddie: Err, bad breath, colorful language, feather duster... what do you think they're gonna be armed with? Guns, you tit!"
