After some 30 years after this film, a film with the same tittle was made in the year 2016 with Akshay Kumar.
Remake of The Champ.
Rishi Kapoor secretary and actor Ghanshyam Rohera was planning to produce the Hindi remake of " The Champ". This was in 1981. He had signed Amjad Khan in the title role, along with Rishi Kapoor and Anita Raj. All plans were dropped when Dara Singh's version of "The Champ", "Rustom" finally released and then flopped.
Anil Kapoor film Rishtey had a similar story line.
