TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The female lead is uncomfortable with the attention she gets when she grows large natural breasts. At first, Natasha Lyonne was excited about the silicone breasts she wore for her role. Then, director Tamara Jenkins told her to walk around for a day while wearing them. Lyonne came back and told Jenkins, "I get it now."

Body doubles were used for Natasha Lyonne and Marisa Tomei's nude scenes.

During filming, Natasha Lyonne was in a car accident on her way to the studio. She apparently hit the steering wheel so hard that she now has a noticeable scar on her chest. Production was shut for a few days before they shot the famous "vibrator scene" where she wears her nightgown pulled up to her neck to disguise the imprint of the steering wheel.

The nursing school exterior is actually the Montebello Library.

The 1954 hit song "Papa Loves Mambo" by Xavier Cugat and His Orchestra is featured in the trailer.

Popular Dialogues

"Vivian: You dropped out of high school? Eliot: It was an option. I wanted to join the workforce. Vivian: What do you do? Eliot: Sell pot."

"Vivian: Are you starring at my breasts? Eliot: No! Vivian: [lifts up her shirt] Well look at them! Eliot: Ok... Vivian: What do they make you think? Eliot: I don't know Vivian: Do they looked deformed? Eliot: No, they look beautiful! Vivian: Do you want to touch them? Eliot: Ok."
