Sections of this film were shot at Will Rogers High School, a beautiful example of Art Deco architecture. But the girls' washroom where scenes between Ashley and Nicole were shot was so small that the producer had to watch the video of the takes crammed in in a toilet stall with the assistant director and script supervisor.
Sections of this film were done in Tulsa's Spotlight Theater, which was rehearsing their own Christmas lay. One rehearsal was delayed by about half an hour, but actors Vivica A. Fox and Justinh Avery rewarded the cast with a group photo.
The scenes of the teen dance club were shot at historic Cain's Ballroom's Bob's Place. Cain's Ballroom is the music venue in Tulsa which has hosted famous musicians including Bob Wills and Leon Russell. Its manager, Chad Rodgers, generously allowed the production to use the historic Cain's logo in the shots.
"Nicole: So you and your dad are not so Disney these days, huh? Ashley: It's Sharon and me... we're the total train wreck."
"Mac: You'll make a terrific Virgin Mary. Ashley: Shut up! And who said I was a virgin? Mac: I was talking about the play. And being a virgin is bad because, why? Ashley: Because nobody else is. Mac: There may be one or two..."
