The Advance G series Smart TVs are centred around performance output. It features a 120Hz refresh rate, which results in incredibly smooth motion, reducing the stutter and blur common in fast-paced action sequences or sports. The inclusion of MEMC (Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation) further enhances the experience by intelligently inserting additional frames, making on-screen action appear even more fluid, especially when your hardware lacks the power for additional performance. The display is one of the core aspects of the Advance G Series. It utilises a QLED panel, which incorporates a layer of quantum dots to enhance colour and brightness beyond that of standard LED TVs. The brand claims that the screen can reproduce around 1.07 billion colours, and with support for HDR10, it should lead to greater detail and depth in the image.

There’s also Dolby Vision support, a dynamic HDR format that optimises the picture on a scene-by-scene basis, adjusting contrast and brightness for optimal quality. The 4K (3840 x 2160p) resolution ensures everything remains sharp, while a wide 178-degree viewing angle should provide a consistent picture from nearly any position in the room.

This means you’re limited to HDMI 2.0, which offers less bandwidth, and the TV lacks support for some key gaming technologies like Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

These features help offer a smoother, lag-free experience on modern consoles. Since some alternatives in this price bracket include HDMI 2.1, this omission could be a deal-breaker for serious gamers.

For gamers who want to prioritise performance, the Hisense E7K Pro 55-inch is a good alternative. It offers a 240Hz High Refresh Rate and supports a variable refresh rate (VRR) of up to 144Hz. It also has two better HDMI 2.1 ports, making it ideal for the latest gaming consoles. You get Dolby Vision IQ, which uses a sensor to adapt the picture to your room’s lighting, and a comparable 49W sound system with a subwoofer.

The LG QNED83 (review) is another alternative for those who require superior picture quality. Its key advantage is the QNED display technology, which combines Quantum Dot and NanoCell for enhanced colour and brightness over standard QLED. It features a 4K 120Hz panel and two HDMI 2.1 ports, making it fully equipped for modern console gaming. Other multimedia features include Dolby Vision and Atmos. It is an excellent choice if a superior display and gaming-centric features are your primary focus.

Acer seems to be expanding beyond PC displays to build a footprint in the competitive mid-premium TV segment. If you’re a casual gamer who wants immersive sound and colour at under Rs 55K, this TV is a strong contender. But for cutting-edge gaming performance, you might want to look at some of the options mentioned above.
