Amazfit, which has gained its market reputation in India as an affordable smartwatch maker, is tipped to launch its latest wearable in India, called the Amazfit Pop 2. The smartwatch, which is expected to fall in the affordable category only, has been teased by the brand on its official India Twitter handle. Now, a landing page has also appeared for the product on the homegrown e-commerce platform Flipkart — detailing a host of specifications that it may launch with. The teasers come days before the Amazfit Pop 2 is expected to launch in India and start retailing shortly thereafter.
Amazfit Pop 2 specifications (expected)
Based on the teased details of the smartwatch, the Amazfit Pop 2 is tipped to come with a 1.78-inch AMOLED display. The display will be housed in a rectangular, metal-rimmed casing, with a single rotary dial to control the smartwatch.
According to the teaser posts, the key feature of the smartwatch is its Bluetooth-based calling feature, which would allow it to be used as a hands-free smartwatch with Android smartphones. The feature has long been reserved for premium smartwatches, but has, of late, proliferated to budget wearable devices as well.
Other key features that have been teased include tracking of over 100 sport modes, over 150 watch faces, 24-hour heart rate monitoring, a blood oxygen monitor, app notification relays from paired smartphones, and a window for controlling music playback while working out as well.
The smartwatch is also tipped to get 10-day usage battery life, although the exact size of the battery has not yet been revealed. The schematics of the Amazfit Pop 2 also reveal a magnetic charging port, which could be an ergonomic addition to the affordable smartwatch.
