AMD brings 3D V-Cache to commercial workstations with Ryzen PRO 9000 Series

AMD has announced the Ryzen PRO 9000 Series desktop processors. This expands brands’ commercial and workstation lineup with a significant first: the world’s first enterprise-grade workstation processor featuring AMD 3D V-Cache technology.

These processors are expected to be available in the second half of 2026, with Lenovo as one of the first OEM partners. They will showcase the new chips in their ThinkStation P4 at NXTBLD.

What 3D V-Cache means for workstation users

AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology adds extra cache memory directly on top of the processor die. This dramatically increases the amount of data the CPU can access without reaching out to slower system memory. In gaming, this has already made a big difference. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is currently one of the fastest gaming processors available. Bringing this technology to enterprise workstations is a logical next step. The performance benefits for data-intensive professional workloads are significant.
