The ASUS ROG Phone 9 series is set to expand with a new ‘FE’ edition. Similar to Samsung’s Fan Edition concept, the ROG Phone 9 FE is expected to deliver core gaming features of the flagship models at a lower price point. The ROG Phone 9 FE will sport a 6.78-inch FHD+ (2400×1080) Samsung Flexible AMOLED LTPO display with up to 165Hz refresh rate in standard use and 185Hz in Game Genie mode. It offers 2,500 nits peak brightness, 1,600 nits in High Brightness Mode, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, matching the panel on the ROG Phone 9 and 9 Pro.
Under the hood, the handset will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 paired with Adreno 730 GPU, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. The camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro shooter. For selfies, there’s a 32MP front camera. Notably, it skips the telephoto lens found on the main ROG Phone 9 series.
