With an aim to give tough competition to existing audio brands in the country, Stockholm-based audio brand Defunc has forayed into the Indian market. The firm has introduced a range of products that include multi-room, smart Wi-Fi home speaker solutions and truly wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds. It has also made a strategic alliance with Delhi-based Salora International Limited, a leading consumer electronics company, for the brand’s sales and marketing distribution in India.

Defunc home speakers, earbuds: features, specifications
Defunc has launched two versions of WiFi home speakers and five earbuds models in India.
The WiFi home speakers comprise small (40W) and large (100W) sizes with two colour options in grey and black, which are compatible with all music genres and audio types. These include coloured speaker fronts, custom printed fronts, adjustable floor stands, and wall and corner mounts. Users can select from various accessories, including floor stands, mounts and coloured fronts. It supports Amazon Music, Apple Music (iOS), Deezer, iHeartRadio, Napster, Qobuz, and TuneIn. These can receive commands via Alexa Voice Service (AVS).
The Defunc earbuds are Defunc True Basic, Defunc True Talk, Defunc True Sport, Defunc True Audio, and Defunc True Music. These variants are meant for basic conversation, sports activity, music and entertainment, and gaming. They come with IPX 4 and 5 waterproof ratings, are sweat-resistant and offer a truly immersive music experience. Each earbud variant offers slightly different talk time (5-6 hours) and total play time (20-30 hrs). All other variants offer a talk time that falls within this range. The Defunc earbuds support fast charging and can be play-ready quickly.

Defunc home speakers, earbuds: India price, availability
While the small Defunc home speakers come at Rs 21,999, the large home speakers cost Rs 36,999. And the price of TWS earbuds starts at Rs 2,499 and goes up to Rs 5,499. The newly launched products will be available across offline stores across all major cities in India by the end of the year. It will be available across 500 retailers by the end of March 2023. The products will soon be available across all major online channels, including Amazon and Flipkart.
