- Google Pixel 10 series launches on August 20th
- Four models revealed: Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold
- Base Pixel 10 may feature a triple-camera setup with a telephoto lens
Google has officially unveiled the complete Pixel 10 lineup ahead of its launch on August 20th. A banner spotted on the Google Play Store (via Android Authority) confirms four devices: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and a foldable model, likely the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Notably, a striking Blue device in the image appears to be the base Pixel 10, along with a confirmation that it will get a triple camera setup, which would include a telephoto lens.
What makes the Pixel 10 the most exciting device in the lineup?
The vanilla (which looks not-so-vanilla in the image) Pixel 10 stands out in the lineup as it is the only model of the four in a deep Blue colour shade. It also features a triple-camera setup, confirming earlier reports that the base model will get a telephoto lens, a first for a non-Pro Pixel. This marks a significant leap in camera versatility for the standard model, particularly in terms of zoom and portrait shots.
Camera-wise, the Pixel 10 is tipped to borrow the 48MP main and 12MP ultrawide sensors from the Pixel 9a (review), along with a 10.8MP periscope telephoto lens from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold (review). These are capable sensors, as confirmed in our previous reviews, and could make the Pixel 10 one of the most well-rounded cameras in its segment, assuming Google backs it up with reliable image processing.
Recall that last year’s Pixel 9 (review) featured a dual-camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor and a 48MP ultrawide lens. While it was a capable configuration, I found that the absence of a telephoto lens put it at a disadvantage compared to rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Vivo X200, both of which offered more versatile camera systems. With the Pixel 10 possibly featuring a telephoto lens, it appears that Google is once again bringing smartphone photography to the forefront.

The design remains familiar, but the bright Blue colourway (as seen in the banner above) suggests Google will be selling the base Pixel 10 in some eye-catching hues. At the same time, the higher-end models will seemingly get more muted colour options, at least that’s the message being conveyed from the official teaser.
Under the hood, all Pixel 10 phones are rumoured to feature a new 3nm Tensor G5 chipset. We expect to see some solid performance and efficiency gains, especially after the mixed response to previous Tensor SoCs.
For Indian users, the Pixel 10 is expected to go on sale on August 21st. Interested buyers can register on the Google Store before August 19th, 12:30 PM IST to receive an exclusive launch offer. While Indian pricing is yet to be revealed, US customers are being offered a $50 (~Rs 4,300) discount, hinting at early-bird deals.
Final word
If the rumours hold, the base Pixel 10 could be the sleeper hit of the series. With a telephoto lens, attractive colour options, powerful internals, and Google’s software, it may finally offer a Pro-grade experience without the premium pricing. For users who’ve wanted better camera hardware without going all-in on the Pro, this could be the one to wait for.
